    Exclamation Bag It Today Cheating and Fraud

    1. I am writing this to lodge a formal complaint against Bag It Today (India Today Group) for a fraud done against me. A brief of the case is as under :-
    2. I got a mail on 17Mar2011, that my email ID has been selected at random and I am eligible for a Privilege Voucher (No. A10009) –a Reebok double glass watch, worth Rs.2999, for which I have to pay Rs.399 as postal charges, which were paid by me from my ICICI account to Bag It Today on 22Mar2011.
    4. I got a call from Bag It Today (Miss Ruchi) on 22Mar2011 that based on a purchase (Order ID : 1004133020), I have won a contest, whereby I would be getting the following items worth Rs.200,000.
    (a) Diamonds (12 Diamonds of 10 Cent each) worth Rs 1.2 lakhs.
    (b) Blackberry Storm 9530.
    (c) Philips Home Theater-DVP3126, and
    (d) Philips DVD player-DVS2200.
    5. I was told that I have to pay the taxes & Insurance for the diamonds to be eligible for the prizes. I was told that this payment had to be made by me before 12:00 PM on 23Mar2011.
    6. On 23Mar2011, at about 10:30AM, I again got a call from Bag IT Today (Miss Ruchi) regarding confirmation about the prize, however when I expressed my reservations, I was again given a call form Bag It Today, and a Mr.Raj spoke to me and told me, that besides these prizes my name has also been selected for a prize between 10lakhs-20lakhs, which I can take as cheque, cash or a vehicle or a combination of these). Based on that assurance I made the online payments to Bag It Today, which I was told I have to make in two parts. Order details are :-
    (a) 880187663 : Rs 24,999.00
    (b) 1004203659 : Rs 20,299.00
    7. I was then told that I would get a call from Bag It Today within one hour, for confirming the above, and once I confirm the order, within 10-15mins their Senior Manager would call me and discuss the mode of payment of my other prize, i.e the one between 10lakhs & 20lakhs. When no one called me regarding the prize, I again contacted Mr. Raj who told me that I have to wait for 2 weeks when the diamonds, Mobile, Home Theater & DVD player will be delivered to me, and a Bag It Representative will accompany these and take my ID proof etc for the 10-20Lakh prize.
    8. I was not suspicious till then since all the online transactions had been from my ICICI account to Bag It Today. I however got suspicious due to the following reasons :-
    (a) When I confirmed the price of a 10 Cent diamond, I came to know that even the best quality diamond of that weight will not cost more than Rs.3000. So, how come the so called tax & Insurance charges were Rs.45,298 ?
    (b) Why was the transaction being shown as an order for a purchase, when I was told that it is just Tax & Insurance which I am paying ? They could very well have shown it as the tax & insurance charges for the diamonds.
    (c) Why did I not received any written confirmation from Bag It Today regarding any of the awards, which I was told I had won ( in all probability to lure me to make the payment) ?
    (d) I saw several similar complaints against Bag It Today on consumer court forums, where other innocent people had been duped using similar means and even the same numbers had been used.
    9. When I spoke to the customer care and asked them for a refund, I was told to give the complain in writing (on dominic.saviou@intoday.com ), which I did on 29Mar2011. I sent a copy of the complaint to the customer care of Bag It Today also (customercare@bagittoday.com and pinkesh.jain@intoday.com). On 31Mar2011, Mr. Tanuj (7838028128) from Bag It Today called me and after listning to my case told me that India Today conducts a competition every year and my nominations are on and my name has been shortlisted, but I have not yet won it. He also told me that the prize amount was between 1-10 lakhs and not 10-20 lakhs as I had been told. When I told him I want a refund since I had been fraudulently lured into making this hefty payment, he assured me that I will receive the refund within 10 working days and a written confirmation from Bag It Today within a day. However I have not received any written confirmation and the individual is now not attending my calls too.
    10. The Bag It Today numbers from where your representatives have spoken to me are :
    +911140782300, +911149560000, 07838028128, 09654665711.
    The representative who have contacted me for this fraud are : Ms. Ruchi, Mr.Raj and Mr.Narender Sharma and Mr Tanuj (who said he is the Sales team leader of the team which has made me undergo this ordeal).

    11. I am a serving Army Officer and the India Today Group has not even spared me. I want a immediate refund, failing which I will be forced to ask for a compensation too.

    Exclamation Bag It Today Fraud and Harassment

    It is amazing how can you guys come up with new ways to harass people.

    1st of all I have made these payments online from my ICICI account number 0208015##### and both the payments have been debited from my account and shown as having been made to Bag it Today. I have even mailed my statement of account showing both these payments to you twice (customercare@bagittoday.com and dominic.savio@intoday.com) and you still continue to deny the payments.

    First you have cheated me into spending more than Rs.45000 by telling me it is the tax/insurance for Rs.1.20 lakh value diamonds and now you are denying the payment too !!!

    India Today Group is a bunch of cheats and fraudsters and are now resorting to cheating normal people of their hard earned money.

    I would also like to bring this to notice, that while shopping at Baggit Today, the authentication code is displayed for just a second or two after the payment is made and thereafter the screen changes. Same happened with me and I was not able to read that and no one even told me that I had to. I have received confirmation mails from Baggit Today (sales@bagittoday.com) regarding the payments, then why are you guys into denial mode ?
    It just cannot be that my ICICI Bank shows the payments as having been made to Bagit Today, I receive confirmation mails from you as well as confirmation call from Bagit Today confirming the payments made by me and I even send the copy of my eStatement (ICICI Bank) to Bagit Today as asked by you guys, and you still continue to plead ignorance !
    A bunch of thieves not even sparing a serving Army Officer.

    Mr. Sonu Kumar,
    I am witing, but my patience is not limitless. Inspite of my telling your people not to send me the orders, and they assuring me that they won't since I was cheated into it, I have been told that one of the orders (1004203659 worth Rs.20299) has been dispatched to me ! And the second one (880187663, worth Rs.24,999) you guys are even denying that I have paid.
    Harassment has a limit. I will raise the issue to the highest levels, legal and executive, besides through the defense channel.
    Corrupt and unscrupulous practices by India Today will be brought to the fore through all forums and means including wide media coverage. I will also seek compensation and ensure that all individuals involved in this fraud are brought to book.
    Trust me on this, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
    Instead of just giving me these generic replies, I want concrete action and fast.

    Exclamation Bag It Today Cheating and Fraud

    These people are now saying that they cant locate my Order (880187663, for Rs. 24,999 paid by an online transaction from my ICICI Bank account to Bagit Today).

    I have sent them the confirming mail which I recieved from Bagit Today as well as the Bank statement showing the transaction, but there simple reply is we cant locate the order.

    1st they cheat me into paying Rs.45,298 (in two orders : Order ID 1004203659 for Rs.20,299 and order ID 880187663 for Rs.24,999) and then they deny that I paid them Rs.24,999 !!!

    India Today is so corrupt.

    I will take them to court.

    The payment of Rs.24999 has been made by me from my ICICI Bank account to Bagit Today on 23Mar2011.

    The 1st attempt at the transaction failed, however a order ID got generated (880187663) which I have been quoting in all my complaints.

    Thereafter, I made another attempt at the payment and was able to make the payment on the same date for Rs.24,999, for which I was finally able to get the Order ID from customer care today.

    The order ID for the payment is 1004194293 for my order which I WANT TO CANCEL IMMEDIATELY as I was cheated into this by your unscruplous sales executives as I have already mentioned before.


    You are requested to confirm the payment and the cancellation of the order and refund the amount to my ICICI Bank account without any further delay.

    The other order (again part of the same fraud/cheating) ID. 1004203659 for Rs.20,299, in spite of me having requested for cancelation and refund. I have been told by your customer care representative that when I receive the consignment, I should not accept it and once it reaches back to Bagit Today, my money would be refunded. Request confirm/

    [Again received a call from Bagit Today (011-49560000) telling me I have won diamonds and blackberry and some other goodies and asking me to pay Rs.25000 as tax & insurance.

    Exactly same method of cheating, even the 'prizes' remain the same !

    When I told your sales rep that I have been cheated before, with a similar offer, he disconnected. But I recorded the conversation ! Now I have all the proof to nail you guys.

    They also cheated me in the same way for Rs. 24999. The order I received contain blackberry handset and diamonds but the handset is damaged without battery and the diamonds are duplicate. When I called them they are asking me to send it back, your money will be refund in 21 days. I would like to know whether they will return the money or I need to go to consumer court. Pls reply.

    Don't go by their word, they'll keep you running around in circles.
    You should not only go to consumer court, also lodge you complaint at
    Consumer Online Resource & Empowerment Centre
    Also lodge an FIR.

    Dear Musavi Sir,
    Even I have been cheated in the same way for Rs 24999 (twice), I had to pay this amount twice as I got somewhat 15-20 calls same day stating if i dont pay the amount second time, even the first item would not be sent to me. This left me with no option but to pay the amount second time. AND the items received were all duplicate - blackberry was the UNLOCKED version of VERIZON and the diamonds were duplicate (even the so called certificate from DEMOLOGICAL CENTER was a fraud). I think this is high time we all get together and bring them down.

    Dont know why a reputed group like India Today is into this kind of business practise.

    Let is spread the message, by whichever way possible, going to the media, social networking sights, blogs, word of mouth, consumer forums and courts, even lodging FIR's for fraud.

    Angry Bag It Today Cheating

    Bag It Today is cheating me in giving the cancelled order money.
    18th march 2011 I have cancelled the order worth 47998/-
    First Bag It Today promised o revert back the money with in 21 days but still I have not received any money from Bag It Today.

    They have refunded the money for one of the orders (1004203659) Rs.20,299.
    Still waiting for the remaining amount (order ID 1004194293) Rs.24,999.
    Let's see how long do they take.

    I wish they remove the unscrupulous sales guys from their group. That'll save the customers so much of agony and the group can maintain/build their reputation.

    They did the same with me and it took 20 days and several phone calls to finally locate it. They even refuse to acknowledge online money transfer !
    Every customer care representative kept feigning ignorance, till, finally came across someone who was honest and told me the booking ID.

    Dear All,

    This message is to all the people out there. Note that Bag It Today is fraud company and DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM no matter how interesting the offer may look.

    1. I ordered black berry and diamond worth 24999 and what i received is a fake diamond which is not even worth Rs4000. and the black berry is the unlocked version from US.
    2. As soon as i placed the above order i got another call from them mentioning that i have won Rs210000 under some (stupid) scheme or theirs. When i rejected they stated i must pay this as well if i want wish to receive the items mentioned in the first order. That person identified himself as a Supervisor there and even gave the check# to me. I had to pay Rs24999 again here.

    Order numbers for the above are 1004879856 and 1004878942

    3. Order number 1004869593, under which a low quality reebok track suit was delivered which was of not my size. There was a wrist watch as well which was not working. On 27-April-11 i got a call from some Avneesh, when i complained i was told that I will be receiving the correct items in 5-7 days. I think they dont have calender in their office...!!!

    Call them and you get some standard DIALOGUE from them as answer to your question.

    I am not sure why they are into such practice. AND moreover, WHY ANY AUTHORITIES ARE NOT TAKING ANY ACTION AGAINT THEM.

    ONE GOOD EXAMPLE OF CORREPTION, I guess.....

    Angry Cheat-India Today

    India Today Group should be brought down for whatever they have done/doing. Even when you call them, you do not get proper response. looks like they have connected all the lines to some automatic answering machine....gives the same answer!!!

    why the Group Heads are not looking into this matter...why aren't they taking this seriously and try to fix it....there are lot of such questions...

    Default payment made 3 months ago yet the claim payment not made and the product is pending

    sir,
    sorry to say but i am highly harrased mentally by the india today team as there has been over 3 months since i booked my product for delivery and there has been 2 months since i have recieved a deduction in my account for the payment towards the product.
    i am attaching the scanned copy of the cheque that was cleared on my account for the payment towards the product as has been obtained by me from the clearing bank, as nothing could have been a more concluding proof than this one and also the copy of the mail stating that my payment is recieved and the product is due for delivery. so i would humbly request you to take necessary steps to send in my product as soon as possible or else i will have to take some legal actions to get my products in my hand as the limit of a consumer patience has been breached.
    product ordered in february 2011, cheque couriered in february itself, cheque cleared on 17th of March 2011 on Canara Bank of connaught place branch.
    hence it is clear that this is a clear case of harassment on the part of the company and the product is still due to come. but now i dont want the product as the product i ordered was for rs 5999/- but now the mrp of the product elsewhere is Rs4750/- so i claim for the refund and as well as the compensation from the company for 3 months of mental peace damaged of a student aspiring to become a chartered accountant in the last few months of completion of his course but due to this mishappening i have lost most of my precious time and concentration. please help

    almost two months had been passed now, when I spoke to their customer care, they informed me that my order is under hold.I have sent lot of mails but they are saying "We would like to inform you that we have forwarded your complaint to the concerned departmen"

    I also searched the internet for this type of fraud and have found that there are several incidents lodged by other victims on consumercourt.In and econsumercomplaints.Com

    I think strict action should be taken against such a fraud company and it should be shut down completely so that it doesn't loot more consumers.

    Please do the needful to stop such fraudulent activities of misinformation and cheating.

    Default Bag it today (book my holiday) - Fraud

    I booked a holiday package from bag it today on 15/07/2011.
    My booking ID is 1007964579.
    I received my package after one week on 21/07/2011.
    I sent my application form along with required document and DD for registration charge of Rs. 750 on 12/082011 by courier.
    As per courier information, it was reached on 16/08/2011 and as per courier record Mr. Vijay from "Affordable Sales Promotions Pvt. Ltd." had received it.
    In the application form it is mentioned that after receiving the application form along with the registration charge (Demand Draft), the customer service team will contact me in 3 working days .
    As on date nobody had contacted me for confirmation.

    I tried to contact on the given customer care number (+120-6182100) many times, on which it remains on hold for long time and sometimes if it could get connected, I am not getting satisfactory answer.

    I have many mobile numbers on which also I tried to contact many times which are mentioned below. They have now stopped picking up my calls. If I call from different number they picks-up but they cuts my call once knowing that I have called.

    I have spent so much money on making phone calls and mentally stressed also.

    Here the question is if I have sent my form once only, how it can be rejected twice??? Also what is the reason of rejection???

    Now, I am fed up of this and want solve this problem.
