I like to inform you all that India Today Book Club is a BIG BIG SCAM Company and now they are with Contest SCAM!

They are running more that Rs.10Lacs Contest and for the same they and their sales persons call you and tell you that you are guaranteed winner of Rs.10,000 or Rs.30,000 or Rs.2Lac + price! And to confirm and get your price you required to purchase a product from them.

They call you many time + after purchase the next day other person from their sales team again call you and give you more (higher) amount of winning confirmation and again tell you to purchase new product!

They tell that you get your winning price on 31st Mar.2010 by Check OR DD.

I also received this type of phone call. First their sales team member Mr.Asim tell me that I am in Top 10 Winner List and I guaranteed get Rs.10,000 Price if I place order. After 2-3 times his confirmation I place a Order for Samsung Omni Pro B730 Mobile. He confirm me that I get winning price confirmation within 15-20min of my purchase payment. I paid using ICICI Bank Credit Card.

But I not get any winning price confirmation on same day!

Again their sales team member Miss.Lila call me on next day and tell me that I am now selected for Rs.30,000 guaranteed price! And now I am Top 5 list. She also confirm me that I get this change because One day back I placed a order for mobile. I tell her that I required winning confirmation details and she give me assurance that I defiantly get winning details within 20min of my new order payment. So, again I place a new order for Philips Home Theatre system.

But I not get any email in 12-24hrs! And again on next day their team member call me that I am now winner of Rs.2Lac+ price!!! So, first I tell him to confirm my Rs.30,000 price by email. But he said that they have no user rights to send email! Also he tell me that their all phone calls are recorded by IndiaTodayBookClub for security purpose and I guaranteed get Rs.2 Lacs price. But I not place new order and send email to their all team members on "feedback@indiatodaybookclub.com;order@indiatodayb ookclub.com;response@indiatodaybookclub.com;ashish .bagga@intoday.com;Baljeet@intoday.com;esther@into day.com;Kiranjyot.chhabra@intoday.com;malcolm.mist ry@intoday.com;mohan.sivanand@intoday.com;Neeti.Ra jput@intoday.com;Nidhi.mehta@intoday.com;payal.pur i@intoday.com;photo.itp@intoday.com;prabhdev.singh @intoday.com;pragya.rashmi@intoday.com;psanghhsoff ice@intoday.com;RATNAM@intoday.com;sunil.raina@int oday.com;Tb.kaveri@intoday.com" with all details.

I get reply from Mr.Piyush that "With reference to your mail we would like to inform you that your both orders 880089684 & 880090016 is under process from our end we request you that kindly wait for some days you will receive the same soon." BUT NO Winning Price details !!!

So, Again I send email and tell them to confirm my winning price. Because I only place this both order get winning money.

I get reply after 2 days from Sonia that "We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. With reference to your mail, we would like to inform you that we are not providing any cash prize along with the order." !!!

So, I send email and tell them that I also recorded all this three phone calls and I have recording of this all 3 phone calls. If I not get confirmation within next 48hrs than I am going to file a consumar case against their company.

After this step they start calling me on my cell and tell me that its not possible to confirm winning amount by email! But I get Rs.10,000 guaranteed price! So, I tell them that I req. Rs.30,000 and also required price confirmation by email.

After thsi their team head call me and tell me that they are sorry for all this and they are going to take step against their sales team member. But this is not true that I get price! Its a competition and I just get entry by placing order!

Means this all is a BIG cheating!

So, I tell them that I am not at-all interested in product. And I want refund.

Still they send me a Phillips home theater ! But I not accepted it and return it.

They still not refunded my amount to credit card. But my credit card provider "ICICI Bank" team confirm me that if I not get refund that they process my charge back.

It's my luck that I paid using Credit Card PLUS I recorded their phone call! Otherwise nothing !

It's better to purchase from local shop instead of this types of cheating sites. They are running BagItToday site with same types of offers. But if you search google you get many scam case against them!

This both site are from IndiaToday Group of people but both are BIG Fraud site. I don't understand why this type of Big Group done this Fraud with Indian People!

Their sales team members are very smart. On selling time they offer you many offers or contest winning or prices with your purchase. But after purchase NO ONE ans you! Even their support team reply and tell you that their own sales team member given you wrong details! This is only if you send them many emails OR call them many times. Otherwise nothing!

You loose your money + valuable time + Did not get product or get wrong product + Not get gift or price as per their offer!

So, be careful and DO NOT PLACE any order...

Hi,

This is Sai Pratap from Bangalore.

I had placed order for three watches on 08-06-2010, with Order No:880126801, I paid about Rs. 8700+ including handling charges of Rs.299/- for 3 watches. The executive who made the booking told his name is Vikram.

But, as I dint receive any reply from Indiatoday I called them on 28-06-2010, after spending more than 3 hours and calling nearly 8 times, with all efforts I was able to reach the person so called Vikram who had booked my order earlier.

But, I received a shocking reply from him that, my order is not dispatched as whatever handling charges told by him is not correct, and I have to pay handling charges individually for each watch amounting to Rs. 299*3=897, I was wondering how a company like Indiatoday cheat people like this taking handling charges of about Rs. 900 for dispatch of watches with in India, even though I ordered in one single lot, they also told me unless I make this balance payment for another 2 handling charges my order wont be processed.

When I indicated that it was Indiatoday who told the charges earlier and billed accordingly on my credit card and happily taken my money. And also when I pointed their second mistake, India today should had informed me immediately after the booking date that additional handling charges to be paid, and why they kept quite for 20 days and that too when I called then only they replied the status, this clearly shows the kind of services they are running, and their was absolutely no answer to both of their mistakes. Again I paid what ever additional handling charges on 28-06-2010.

As on date(14-07-2010) it is almost 40 days I paid money and I am yet to receive my watches, worst thing is no one will give proper answer for the status of my watches.

Its high time that some one from India today who is responsible, should take account of this and initiate immediate action in dispatching my watches and take necessary action for the shoddy work done by their staff.

Some one tell please reverse my additional handling charges which is not correct in business ethics, and plese reply to my mail, my mail ID saipratapone@hotmail.com

I had placed an order on bagittoday.com, order id - 998224551, artdinox 55 pc dinner set on 28/04/10. Billing Id: 998224551 Date: 2010-04-28 12:07:10.0 Mode of payment: Credit Card/Debit Card Total transaction amount: 6698.0 I received the courier on 03/05/10 and found out that 2 quarter plates were broken and 6 small bowls were missing. From that day till now I have send them 6 mails and made 12 phone calls. Initially they said that withing 15 days they would replace the product, In August twice they said (response center floor managers Aadil on 6th and Kapil on 14th) that the replacement has been approved and next three days the courier guy would come with the replacement. Now this month they are saying that they are out of stock therefore we cannot tell you by when the replacement would happen. Its been 6 months now and I sincerely believe bagittoday.com run by the famous media giant India Today group is managed by THUGs. The owner and his team shout at the top of their voice at wrongs done by others, but choose to ignore the way they are operating bagittoday.com. Its time they cleaned the filth in their backyard.

i received call from the India today book club that i have won 1 lack rupees diamond vouchers then he told me that i am lucky between the others and i can purchase the gold from suratdiamond.com worth 1 lack rupee and i can use all 20 vouchers at a time then they told me that i have to purchase samsung omini lite mobile worth 14,999/- and also 598/- for the voucher dilevery and they told me i will get following things
1) Samsung omini lite
2) Reebok watches
3) World history book
4) Air round tickets
5) 1 lack worth diamond vouchers
then they told me i should pay by credit card and then they will send me all they told me after doing payment i will receive the email of payment confirmation within 1 hour and also the diamond vouchers so i said that i don't have credit card they given me 2 days to arrange it i arranged from my friend i done payment of 14,998/- on 21/08/2010 and other of 598/- on 23/08/2010 but then i don't received any confirmation mail and also mobile phone, world history book, and the air round up ticket. After 23 calls they send me the email of the vouchers but now they say that i can't use all vouchers at a time i have to use them separately and when i will do any purchase they will pay 5000/- remaining payment should be made by me. this is cheating of the bagittoday

Dear Sir,

I wish to bring to your attention the fraud and cheating which a reputed company like India today is indulging in.

I am regular subcriber of India today . I had placed order for 'History of world' along with free books in November 2009 along with advance payment.

Despite repeated emails and calls to India today book club customer care department, I still haven't received my material. All I get is a standard reply ( see below mail trail). I hope you will realise how frustrating a customer would feel dealing with India Today.

I am writing this hoping that you will take action and I will get my material or my money back.
