    Thumbs down Cheated Customer - Surat Diamond Jewellery

    I had bought a Dimaond Pendant online from Surat Diamond Jewellery worth Rs. 10,000. I paid Rs. 6,000 as I had a discount coupon of Rs. 4,000.

    I received the product and to my surprise there were only 10 diamond pieces instead of 12 which were mentioned in the product specifications.

    This was a gift for my wife on the occassion of our Wedding Anniversary. My wife spoke to them immediately over the phone and they said they will get back to us. After a month passed I spoke to them and they told me that they will send someone to collect the pendant the next day. I waited for 2 days and then I wrote to them and received a reply saying that they will take care of it and they send a person the next day i.e. 10th June 2010 to collect the product giving me confirmation vide their letter head . But I didin't hear from them until 22nd June 2010 wherein I receive a mail saying that the 2 pieces of diamond had fallen off and since it was a holiday season they could not send any one to collect the product.

    How weird can it get when they have already sent someone to collect the product and they are not aware of the same.

    Secondly they stated that 2 pieces have fallen from the product which was the worst possible excuse one could give as there was no place in the pendant to accomodate the same. It is really a shame for a company like Surat Diamond to behave in this manner. This has been my worst experience till date

    I totally empathize with you. But you are luckier than me to have atleast received the product you ordered, albeit minus 2 diamonds. I used my INR 5000 voucher, plus almost double that amount out of my pocket for a pair of earrings I though i was ordering from a reliable brand. It's been more than a month since, forget the product, seems answering my emails for status of my order is considered a waste of time by the swindlers too.

    Thumbs down Cheated Online by Surat Diamond Jwellery.

    I have placed order for a diamond ring online to Surat Diamond Jwellery (order no SD/2010/I 584 for item no. SDR – 1195) with ICICI net banking promotional offer. The offer includes Discount of 5000/- on MRP, a pearl earring and ring set and gift voucher of Rs 1000/- on next purchase.
    I received the product and to my surprise there were only 12 diamond pieces instead of 13 which were mentioned in the product specifications. I also received free gift but not the gift voucher.
    I also feel cheated.

    Surat Diamonds seems like cheating people left right and center. reading your stories makes me lighter , because I think I have lost on 199/-. They were offering some free stuff, and wanted shipping charges, till date they have not sent anything over. Their customer service is one of the most pathetic people - they do not know how speak English, write English and do anything in English. Fancy looking website, certainly does attract, however their business ethics are the worst. Please spread the word that they are cheaters.

    Surat Diamonds seems like cheating people left right and center. They were offering some free stuff, and wanted shipping charges, till date they have not sent anything over.

    Their customer service is one of the most pathetic people - I have called them several times to check status of my order. Some Deepika once replied that it will done in next two days, obviously there was no result. After 2 days I tried several times to get in touch over there customer care number as well as over email. Till now there was no response on that.

    Is there any legal way we can proceed? I guess this is not only related to Surat Diamonds but most online retailers are doing the same thing if you paid in advance. I had similar experience with indiatimes shopping, but good part was at least they were responding to my calls and emails. Not like this.
