I had booked one online ad (Ad ID : 994345 dated 08 June 10) in Ananda Bazar Patrika (Matrimonial) through their online booking agent Online Newspaper Advertising, Book Indian Newspaper Classified Ads - releaseMyAd for publishing on 13 June 10.
The ad was accepted and money paid. Subsequently the portal told me that ABP doesn't accept abbreviation and all words need to be expanded. They did that and asked additional money from me. I Paid. However when the ad came its' content and style was different than that of the matter given by me for print.
The portal "http://releasemyad.com" now refuses to accept any responsibility towards this mistake and refuses to compensate me. The lapse on their part has caused financial and mental agony for me in attending to unwanted calls (paying roaming charges) and explaining why I didn't put the caste reqmt in my ad?????
Details
The portal has charged me Rs 3,350/- for the following ad in pink back ground / highlighting
{ Ad ID : 994345
Billed To : tarunkajla@gmail.com
Booking Date : 08-06-10
Ad Category :
Matrimonial > Wanted Grooms > By Caste. > Brahmin.
Ad Text :
Match for slim,very fair,beautiful 5'2" girl 27,Mgr 5star Mumbai Hotel.Ph9007558632,tarunkajla@gmail.com}
The ad finally published was in blue/ grey background /highlight
and category "Brahmin" was missing all together.
When contacted the flatly refuse to take any responsibility. This is what the customer care has to say
#1. " We understand your concern. However, it is to bring to your notice that Matrimonial colour Ads for internal ABP pages are published in mono colour format which means one colour for all colour Ads for the internal pages in the matrimonial section. Thus, as you may notice the page where your ad was published had only Blue colour Ads and of no other colour. This decision of choosing the page to be monocolour or multi colour is taken by the publication and no control is exercised over it.
The categories mentioned in our website are generalized as we serve for more than 50 newspapers. While booking you Ad on our site, it is also states that Ad Categories might be altered as per Newspaper discretion. This is also a part of our Terms & Conditions on the site. Thus as per ABP's norms they do not further sub-categorize Matrimonial ads by caste. Thus they have matrimonial ads only for wanted brides/grooms category. "
Thus I want to put the fact in front of the consumer forum/court and seek justice. All relevant communication through mail would be produced if needed.
