    Default Titan Fasttrack is deducting 45% from total cost during warranty period

    Hi.

    This is to inform that I had purchased a Fast Track sunglass from Pantaloons, Gariahat in Kolkata on 11/07/2010. The sunglass is covered for 1 year warranty and it was mentioned that the sunglass will be replaced or repaired free of cost.

    But when I produced the sunglass at the Titan Showroom in Gariahat, they first gave silly excuses and did not wanted to cover the warranty period. Later they accepted that the sunglass was defective and blamed us for not seeing the defect while purchasing. They commented " You should have seen the defect while purchasing. Now you will have to submit the request and after 2 weeks, 45% of the total cost will be deducted and only 55% of the total cost will be given back in form of redemption coupon."

    Now the warranty did not mention anything about this 45% deduction on the total cost on replacement. I mentioned them that the warranty doesnot mention this clause 45% deduction clause. Then the person at the front desk was so adamant, that she commented that " It is not possible to mention all the clause in the warranty".

    While selling the Sales person had mentioned that it will be fully replaced or repaired. Now my question is that "
    1) if 45% of the total cost will be deducted in case of replacement then I am paying for the Company's manufacturing defect.This is seriously against consumer interest.
    2) Now if the 45% will be deducted then why this clause is not mentioned in the warranty card. The warranty tells about full replacement but no deduction of cost is mentioned.
    3) They had asked me log in my complaint to http://www.titancare.co.in/ and ironically no site of this kind exists.
    4) Since there was no Customer Care and the employees were adamant that it was my choice to submit the sunglass for replacement. If I would submit then I would atleast get 55% of the total cost back or else nothing will be returned back to me.. I had no other option but to submit my sunglass for repair.

    But would be greatful if the Consumer Forum looks into the issue so that Consumers are not cheated and charged with the hidden costs.

    Default Fast track watch warranty - claim

    Hi.

    This is to inform that I had purchased a Fast Track watch from Fast track branch,in hyderabad on 13/08/2010. The watch is covered for 2 year warranty and it was mentioned that the watch will be replaced or repaired free of cost. I have met with an accident, results in scrathes on dial of the watch. I have called brach people, number of times and they are telling that that should be check with the titan braches.
