We had engaged Agarwal Movers & Packers to shift my household goods within the city of Kolkata on 8th July 2010.

Certain expensive items have been badly damaged during the shifting as the items were mishandled.

I have written to several authorities of the Company without any result.

The entire packing to moving of goods were handled by absolute unskilled people leading to severe damage to my property.
The reason for engaging a brand like Agarwal packers is that we can be assured of the safety of our belongings.

1. We were informed that on 8th July that the packers will reach my residence at 8:30 am. On 8th Morning we got a call from the coordinator that the packers would be late due to some exigency and will reach at 10:30 am. After repeated calls every hour the packers finally reached at 4 pm.

2. Surprisingly there were only two staff from Agarwal packers (Rajan & Narendra) and rest all daily wages labour who had no clue about packing.

3. More than half of the stuff was packed by me which includes clothes and other small items.

4. The big items like almirah, tv cabinet, fridge, washing machine, television etc were packed by the labours and the two staff. But the whole task was handled very casually. They missed out packing the chairs, the mattresses, artifacts and the dining table.
5. The stuff was finally loaded on the truck at 8 pm.
6. Initially the staff from Agarwal packer did not want to start the truck without taking the full payment in advance. After much convincing he finally reached the destination and again we were compelled to pay full amount before unloading of the goods.
7. The truck was unloaded at 11:30pm at the destination only to realise that my expensive dining table which had a marble base was totally broken (because it was not packed), the tv cabinet was badly damaged (because someone must have stood on the cabinet), and one of my dining table chairs was broken because the chairs were not packed and one of the labours dropped it, with least repentance.
We did not negotiate a rupee less with your this Company because we expected superior quality of service.

Inspite of informing their representative no one has even come to verify the damage to the property. I feel absolutely cheated by Agarwal Packers and services who pressurizes the customer to pay full in advance even without verifying whether the goods are delivered in the right condition.

I had sent the same details to drsagarwalpackers@gmail.com and kolkata@drslogistics.in on 10th July 2010 but there is no response. I even spoke to the person incharge Nitesh. After the entire incident it is now being told to us that since this was a domestic relocation no insurance is done and also that we had 100 cartons of stuff which was much beyond their expectation.

My point is that the representatives from Agarwal Packers never visited our site to determine the cost or number of cartons or vehicles required. Neither were we told that I have to pay anything additional for the insurance. Now they completely want to deny taking the responsibility of the damage.

I surely feel CHEATED by the Company which claims to be of high repute.
