Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to bring to notice a particular case in which I have been misled/misdirected/cheated/harassed by this mailing service company called "Town and Country" which is based out of Borivali, Mumbai.

I needed to send 22 Kgs worth of Goods to Spain (Bilbao). This consisted mainly of Food and Clothes for my Sister who has gone there recently as a PhD student.

Since she was allowed only 28 Kgs with her on the flight, we contacted this Courier Service and they said they will send the parcel to Spain for INR 500/kg.

They came over to our house to pack the goods on the 21st May' 2010. We paid them INR 11,000 in cash and got a receipt for the same. They mentioned that the parcel will reach to the consignee within a week.

The consignee did not receive the parcel for 15 days. She got contacted by the Spanish Customs asking for an explanation. She mentioned to them that she is a student who is just arrived in the country and she needs the Parcel as it contains clothes and food. The Spanish Customs still rejected the Parcel and sent it back to India through FedEx.

"Town and Country" has not furnished any details as to why the parcel has been rejected. They just gave us the tracking details and asked the consignee (my sister in Spain) to "plead" with the Spanish customs to allow the parcel inside Spain as they claimed that they don't have enough "Influence" with the Spanish Customs to let the parcel go through.

The problem now is that the Parcel has arrived in Mumbai after a month and Town and Country is asking us to shell out INR 17,000 to reclaim the parcel back. They have mentioned that these are the Fees that are levied by FedEx and they are not responsible for paying the amount.

This is OUTRAGEOUS and completely UNACCEPTABLE that I have to pay INR 17,000 to reclaim the same parcel that I wanted to send to Spain. They have also been very very RUDE in their behavior and have not been giving the entire information. We have still not received our parcel (which has goods worth more than INR 35,000) back even after a month.

We need your help to figure out how I can go about suing Town and Country for our Damages.

Dear Sir,

My brother sent a Parcels (Priority Mail International Service Class Parcel) from USA on Label/Receipt Number: CP73 5044 655U S dated 29.11.2010, which had been delivered from USA on 01.12.2010. Since one month has been past, but still we have not received our parcel. We are continously checking on-line but is showing the same result as shown below:-
