On 28-Jul-2010, I couriered my IT returns to Mysore thro' DTDC courier docket no.
B63077079 (DTDC Banashankari 2nd stage, Opposite Banashankari BDA Complex) by paying Rs. 30/-

The DTDC phone number stamped on my courier docket is 26715083.

I, being the sender had mentioned the destination address as under:
SAMPATHKUMAR G. T
65/C, "SHREYAS", BEHIND GOVT. MIDDLE SCHOOL,
TONACHIKOPPAL,
MYSORE-570009
CELL: 99005 94399.

On the back of the envelope, I had mentioned full sender's address as:
BASHYAM G.S
1317, 27th MAIN, 24TH CROSS,
BANASHANKARI 2ND STAGE,
BANGALORE-560070
CELL: 99000 96041

At the time of handing the document to the courier, I was promised by Banashankari office that the courier will be delivered to the destination next day ie., 29-JUL-2010.

I assumed that DTDC would be true to their words.

On the night of 30-JUL-2010, when I called Mysore, I was told that neither the courier was delivered, nor was there any call to the destination cell 99005 94399. Also, destination party was available throughout the day on 29-JUL-2010, and most part of even 30-JUL-2010

Since it was already night on 30-JUL-2010 when I found that the courier was NOT delivered, I and the destination party decided to take up with our respective DTDC offices in Bangalore and Mysore next morning ie., 31-JUL-2010

On 31-JUL-2010, when the destination party called DTDC Tilaknagar, Mysore over their phone number 2435981, the party was told that the document had arrived at their office. DTDC office then asked the party what the address was. The destination party stated the address as mentioned on the envelope. The destination party was then told that the courier would be delivered on Monday 02-Aug-2010 as there were no delivery boys at that time. When DTDC was taken to task for this, DTDC told the destination party if they wanted the document urgently, they were free to come and collect the document from their Tilaknagar office. DTDC was also unfriendly with the destination party over phone and started blaming them that there was no main or cross written on the document etc. They abused the destination party when the party insisted that the delivery be made immediately.

When I, the sender learnt of this at about 10:30 am on July 31,2010 from the destination party, I rushed to the Banashankari office, took them to task and insisted that they call DTDC Mysore on their phone number as above. When DTDC Banashankari office lady called DTDC Mysore number, she was told curtly the same thing - that no main or cross was mentioned. When DTDC Banashankari office asked them as to why Tilaknagar DTDC had not called the number mentioned on the envelope, DTDC Tilaknagar office said that they did not have outgoing call facility!!! DTDC Tilaknagar office even banged the phone at DTDC Bangalore office lady's face, which she mentioned to me right there!

The destination address mentioned as above is the most correct address and can be verified by checking hundreds of mails and couriers delivered till date. The Post office of the destination is Saraswatipuram post office in Mysore. The destination address has remained the same for over 15 years and the party is a resident of the same address for that period and is receiving all mails and courier without any issues when the address is mentioned as above.

Then DTDC Banashankari called up DTDC head office (that is what the front desk lady told me). She then said she will get back in the next hour after hearing from DTDC head office, Bangalore.

DTDC Banashankari office then left a message to me after a hour that the document would be delivered b/w 2:30 and 3 pm. This message was not passed by DTDC Mysore to the destination party. Since my IT returns were time sensitive, the destination party then called DTDC Mysore again and left a mesage saying they will pick up themselves at Tilaknagar office, with which DTDC Mysore was ok.

Finally, destination party collected the document at 1:30 pm July 31,2010 and signed, mentioned the date and time stamp as such, while collecting the document.

I urge you to take immediate action against DTDC for putting me and my destination party ie., my parents (mother aged over 60 years and my father aged over 72) to abuses, undue hardships. DTDC Tilaknagar office staff also failed to identify themselves when my father SAMPATHKUMAR G.T. went there to collect the document.

They couldn't care less when they were told that a consumer court complaint will be made against them.

We lost productive time, suffered lot of anxiety during this process and were all subject to abusive language by DTDC Tilaknagar office. My father and mother also are not in the best of their health.

I urge you to penalize DTDC to the full and arrange for compensation at once and do justice.

I can produce originals of the envelope used for courier (DTDC Tilaknagar took a xerox copy of the envelope before delivering to my father).

I can also produce original docket issued by DTDC Banashankari.

Hope they don't end up forging the time and date recorded by my father while collecting the document. DTDC Tilaknagar is a bunch of crooks.
