I had sent a parcel through Maruti Courier Service with Ref # 25052105 from Sai Baba Road Office, Bangalore to Rajkot on Date 20th Oct. 2010. This parcel was deliberately STOLEN by a Maruti Courier employee working at the Rajkot office and this was confirmed by Mr.Mohan from Maruti Courier's Rajkot Office. It is quite possible that the staff involved knew the original cost of the item sent.
Upon repeated telephonic inquiries, I was told that the employee involved is being interogated / pressurized and I will receive the STOLEN parcel. Later, Mr.Mohan requested to submit the Invoice for the lost item (parcel) and the same was submitted at Maruti Courier Rajkot Office. Post this Mr.Mohan assured of an appropriate compensation for the lost item. There was no response for 5-6 days from Rajkot Office. On further enquiry, Mr.Mohan asked me to check with Mr.Harji Vadodara at the Ahmedabad Office. When I contacted Mr.Harji Vadodara for atleast 3-4 times with the request to do the needful, he replied in an extremely rude manner and asked not to call him again. I also received a letter stating Maruti Courier will only compensate only 5 times the cost of Courier charge (on receipt) - Rs.750.00. However, the actual cost of the item lost in transit is Rs.12788.00 (as per original invoice).
The compensation confirmed in the letter may be in line with the self defined rules of Maruti Courier Service. However, this incident is severely damaging the Brand and Reputation of Maruti Courier.
There has been a great GAME played with me in this entire episode of LOST parcel.
The incident is highly shameful for Maruti Courier since it is one of the leading Courier Services company in India.
I request you all to avoid using Maruti Courier Service due to their mis-conduct & help teach a lesson to the Maruti Courier Service Management.
