Dear sir,

I purchased one Water Filter, the trade name of the item is PURE IT, manufactured by M/S HINDUSTHAN UNILEVER CO.LTD on 05.01.10 after repeated request by Mr.Chanchal sanyal,one executive of the said company. The cost of the appliance was RS 3200/-. The item was installed at the following address:

44g kalighat road
kolkata-700026
west bengal.









Unfortunately, the appliance started giving trouble by water leaking and non functioning within 15 days from the day of purchase. On repeated request over phone one mechanic came and after verification changed the battery only on 10.04.10. against a charge of Rs 365/- though the appliance was very much within warranty period. But we had to face the same problem as earlier within 10 days of battery change.This time we made a complain firmly and told them clearly we will be constrained to inform Consumer Forum if the appliance is not rectified immediately since we have two very serious aged patients in our house.

We were told by the mechanic that the changed battery was a broken one and it was replaced. Again the same problem has started and appliance has stopped functioning. Despite all complains ( complain no 102257708 dt 03.06.10) and telepones till date no body has turned up and the company seems to be least bothered. We have all reasons to feel cheated by the company selling such item which is directly related with health.
