Yesterday only on back of Farah Icon Building on LalBagh Main Road, Bangalore a cold drink vendor asked me to pay Rs2 more than MRP as cooling charges for a 200ml slice(MRP9) at 3:45pm. I firmly deasserted his demand but observing that I am from delhi some locals gathered in support of the guy. He along with his servant and one other shop keeper were about to strike me for not paying another Rs2. His statement was "forget about the MRP, its not your delhi. You have to pay whatever we ask for. If you want you can lodge a complaint. we don't care". I was taken aback at their audacity and lawlessness at Bangalore. Finally as I didn't had Rs9 change, I threw 10Rs note at them and ran away. Didn't even had chance to make note of shop's name.

And what blueeyed says above is not practical. These vendors don't pay you receipts, so it can't be proven that you bought anything from them. Even if you get the cops to their shop they will simply decline that you purchased anything from them.

Government should quickly come out with a way to put such scoundrels at bay, especially when they turn violent to outsiders.
