    Default HomeTown Customer Service is Horrible

    They take their own sweet time to deliver the furniture boxes. Then they take 3-4 days for the fitment. If you are lucky you get all the boxes but if some of your boxes are missing or you have damaged parts you pray to God that you get the missing items on time. Their Call Center is simply horrible. They have no idea whatsover on your order. They will promise a call back in 30 mins and never ever call you. They play gimmicks like giving you another number of their manager and no one picks that number. They take the entire money in advance and take the customer's time and inconvenience for granted. Simply substandard customer service I would say. A good store but a very bad service after the order is placed.

    Thumbs down Horrible Hometown Marathahalli....Beware.!!

    I had bought a sofa set for 34K on 9th Jan from here. I had made the full payment. They had assured that it will be delivered within a week. I have not received it yet. I have called them innumerable times. But no one picks the phone. I went to their showroom to get a proper reason fro the delay. But they say that they dont have the stock at bangalore warehouse. It has to brought from Mumbai.It will take time. I wanted my money back. But they said you had maid payment by credit card. So we wont give you cash or cheque. We will ask the credit card bank to reverse the money your account. But you will be in more trouble. So wait will deliver it.
    They tried to threaten me like this.
    I dunno what to to now. I am not getting time to go and have a real fight with these ba******ds. If they dont deliver it to me by this 31st, I will do the necessary to teach them a lesson.


    To others.... plzzz beware of Hometown...!! Dont ever go there...!

    I had the worst experience dealing with this company. The women that work there have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. They are very rude and disrespectful. I thought a customer was supposed to leave the store satisfied not DISSATISFIED. She was telling her husband not to help in bringing the product out the store and saying things in her own language. Also telling me NOT to touch anything in the store. This woman had issues. My daughter called to tell them that their attitude was uncalled for and the sister told my daughter that we deserved the attitude.
    These people should NOT be running a business. They would be better off in a slaughter house.

    Default So regret I bought from HomeTown Furnishings Mississauga

    I wish I could come to this forum and read everyone's comments earlier. Our experience with the store is a total disaster, and we were treated as a piece of shxxt after we bought two pieces of furniture. The products were damaged and the woman there is very rude and refused to do anything. I think the purchase from Hometown is the worst shopping decision I have ever made. Just curious how they can survive by being in such idiotical way to treat their customers.

    Yes I share the same experience as you had. The women who says she is the owner of the store is totally a useless rude arrogant lady who has no ethics of how to deal with customers. She should be slaughtered and kicked out from her furniture store.

    This is certainly my worst customer service experience in Mississauga.,

    Default Worst service ever

    We had purchased a queen size bed and a book shelf rack from the above Home Town store in the month of August, 2011. The bed seems to be fine. But within a week, the book rack started developing fungus. We kept cleaning it every alternate day and the fungus used to be back. This caused serious allergy to all my family members and especially my neice and nephew who had come down from USA. We complained this to the store and after repeated calls, after a month a person came for inspection. He took a couple of photographs and said he will get back. Its been more than 45 days since and there as been no response. We have tried calling about 20 times atleast and every time Mr. Khan (so called store manager) and Ms. Soumya say they will check and call back and they never call. And nowadays they are not even taking the calls.

    is there any place we can escalate this issue, because im sure, because of b@st@rds like Mr. Khan, Home Town is losing many customers.

    I concur with all three of these opinions of this particular employee [according to the card she gave me, her name is Gaui]. I had gone with my mom to see about a custom bookcase a week before the end of March this year and was told from a man [who we assumed worked there since he never told us otherwise] that both custom bookcases and a custom armoire would be less than $1000. We came back a week later to find the man was gone and that woman there. We told her that we were in a week before, had talked to someone else and he gave us a price. She told us that he didn't really work there (now I don't know if they work on commission at this store, but, if they do, that makes this employee greedy as well as rude), but she'd be happy to help us out.

    The prices of each item were as follows:

    $675 for an Armoire
    $975 for a 6 foot bookcase
    $400 for a 5 foot bookcase
    $400 for the other 5 foot bookcase

    However, she wanted to give us a slight break with the price of the 6 foot bookcase, so she took off $175 (taking the price of the 6 foot bookcase to $800, even going so far as to call her manager [or whomever, I honestly can't remember] to get approval. However, she told us that the deal was time-sensitive and only good for right now.

    The one thing about my mom is that she hates being pressured, so she refused to take the deal, even though Gaui tried to insist on it (she reminded me of those calls people get from the bank when they're trying to sell you identity theft insurance and, even if you say no, they still try to sell it to you). Her attitude got progressively worse when I, knowing my mom better than she does, tried to insist that my mom didn't want to do it and she rudely cut me off to continue her sales pitch.

    I try to see the best in people and give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but I am honestly truly disappointed in her behavior; I really hope that she reads this site and improves her behavior because, if she doesn't, I greatly feel that the store won't be in business much longer (which, to me, is unfortunate because stores that do custom low priced woodwork is a rarity...at least from what I've seen)

    I had the worst experience ever with the HomeTown Furniture store,the self-appointed owner of the stor Gavi is the rude,arrogant lady.In December,2010 we purchased 3 pcs. sofas that supposed to be leather(ends up to be not true).When i unpacked the sofas at home i experienced a strong odour coming from the sofa.Then i noticed the mould spots on the furniture.I called the store and had a "talk" with Gavi.She offer me exchange to a floor model,but i refused, i wanted my money back.She said it is not possible,so i contact TSSA(technical standards&safety authority).They came to inspect my "leather" sofa`s.that`s what they find:The sofa`s had mould present,the metal components were rusted, the wooden components were in a variousstages of the decay.There was no labels.Then TSSA went to the store for inspection,sale person present in the store made vulgar comments toward the inspector.She found more furniture that contained mould.Large quantities of furniture were red tagged and removed from sale for infractions.My case was transfer to Costumer Protection Branch,It`s been over a year now,i found that this store is on buyers beware list,so i have question? How can person like the owner of that store rob honest customer? I went there,paid for my purchase and what i get? People, avoid this store.

    Thank you for letting me [and others] know her name. Either she didn't write the "v" as she should have or I just didn't notice it.

    In addition to my post, I feel I should mention that, after that possibility of custom bookcases, I called around to different custom woodworking stores in Toronto. One person told me that, with a bookcase that long, the wood will eventually sag and then break.

    After she told me that, I thought, "Why didn't that woman from HomeTown Furnishings say something?"

    Then it hit me...either she didn't know [which makes her uninformed of the product she represents] or she didn't care [which makes her an extortionist, trying to get money from us when she knows the product will fail].

    After your post, iwona;109009, I'm going with option B. Though I can't understand how anyone could knowingly and willing rip off customers and still look at themselves in the mirror every morning.
