I would like to bring to your kind notice that I am a resident of 19 B Gora Chand Lane, 1st Floor,South Side, Kolkata-700014.I am a consumer of Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation and my consumer no is 260601000007. I have received bill for June 2010 and the amount is Rs 2700 net and the total unit consumed shows as 473. My average consumption amounts to Rs 1000 per month.Sir it is highly unlikely that we could have consumed so much electricity as we have no air conditioner or any other high consuming electrical equipment.We are a family of four and in the past we have never consumed so much electricity.
I would be highly obliged if you look into the matter sympathetically and redress our problem at the earliest.

Dear Sir,
I would like to draw your kind attention to the following subject. The electricity bill has been hiked since May, 2011 (just after assembly election). I received the bill on May 13, 2011. I made a phone call to Mr. S. S. Chakravorty, Manager at Mandeville, Ballygunge Place. I told him, " Why did you enhance the bill? The Kolkata Doordarsan are advertizing to switch the home appliance off for five minutes. What I have seen is that throughout Kolkata the street lamps remain on at day time. Why is this wastage? He confused me and told, "We are not responsible. This is done by KMC, KMDA. We have for 12 hours contact with them. So thay are free to use electricity for 12 hrs per day." And so many others. This is his excuse. I as an ordinary consumer understand he will not take care of this. One week later, I again made a phone call to Mr. A. Shome, General Manage at Chowringhee. He disagreed with me that this event does not occur throughout the city. I requested him to take the initiation to stop wastage of electricity whatever may be the cause or whoever is responsible. He promised me. But I saw thereafter a huge number of street lamps remain on at Dum Dum, Ballygunge, Hatibagan, Lansdown and almost everywhere at noon, in the morning and evening when sufficient dayligt is present. Hence this is my request to the members of Kolkata electricity consumer forum that at any cost we must stop wastage of electricity. This money is spent from your and my pockets. If a thief steals electricity he uses it for his own purpose. But what is the use of electricity spent by the street lamps at daytime?
