I live in multi story residential building in Kota Rajasthan, and I own one flat there. After construction of the building in 2006 the builder installed One Transformer of 11000/400 Volt
A few months back there was some fault in the transformer and the power supply to whole building which has 48 Flats failed. When The Society people approached AEN of JVVNL concerned he sdaid that since the transformer is installed by the builder, the society should get it repaired.
When I objected to this and told the AEN that it the responsibility of JVVNL to get the transformer repaired he flatly refused.
Thus Society had to get it repaired and more than Rs 15 000/- were spent on it.
I told the AEN and his higher ups that all the consumers living in the Multi Story building are paying the same tariff which any other house owner in Kota is paying to JVVNL. When the the other consumers are not responsible for repair and maintenance of the transformer through which they are getting power supply, why the people living in Multi story buildings can be asked to maintain the Transformer.
I am of the firm opinion that transformer installed in the building is the property of JVVNL or the State Electricity Board. While giving Power connection to the building, state Elctricity Board has to install the transformer. As transformers are not readily available with the Electricity Boards They ask the Builder to purchase the transformer and deduct the cost of Transformer from the Estimated cost of power connection.
Thus the transformer is the property of Electricity Board or Power supply company.
But the corrupt officials have not discharged their duty and our Society had to foot the bill of the repairs.
