Description – We had gone to Okhla Bird Santurary in the morning at 6 : 30 on 16th of October 2011 where we had gone to see ‘Watch Tower 1’ which was at one corner off the park after ‘Watch Tower 2. We went down to the park to watch the birds. But when we 3 reached there Sanket’s leg got stuck in the quick sand (Daldal). Sanjay went to save him with leaving Sonali in a safe place. Sanjay after saving Sanket himself got stuck in the soil. Then our shoes got stuck in the soil and we could not get them out. We ourselves got stuck in the soil and could hardly get out. Our lives were at a risk. After about 5 minutes of trying to get out we managed to pull each other out and escaped from the Watch Tower 1. We went to the authorities of the bird park and told them the whole story. They told us that the Watch Tower 1 had sunk in that soil and that it was quick sand. There was no board or anything which we saw that said that the Watch Tower 1 is no more.
Things Lost in Quick Sand – 1 Pair Shoes (₨ 7000), 1 Shoe (Rs 4500), 1 Shoe (Rs 2000), 1 Binoculars (Rs 6000) and 1 Night Seeing Binoculars (Rs 500). Total Money Lost Rs 20000


More than anything else, its shocking that we later saw other deserted shoes there and the attitude of the authorities is shocking to say the least.
