ARTHA HEALTH OPTIONS: A FRAUD COMPANY

I am an Artha card holder since last 2 years. As of now, I do not have any problem with it.
My card has expired and on 7th Sept, 2010, I received a phone call from one of their executives.
He told me that because I am a card holder since last 2 years, they have a gold membership which costs Rs 3992 that covers 2 master health check ups and unlimited number of visits for one year.
I agreed to go for it and paid Rs 3992.

On 8th Sept, 2010, again I received a call from their office telling me that the remaining payment needs to be made. What remaining payment ???

Then they told me that the gold card costs Rs 9992 with a validity of 2 years.
But the salesman has not informed me about it.
This is totally wrong.

Anyway, after heated discussions, they extended the validity to 3 years and offered me to give a yearly vacation.
I agreed to it.

On 13 th Sept, 2010, they again called me and told that I need to pay Rs 19000 /- more for the gold membership.
Earlier whatever I paid (i.e. Rs 9992 /-) was for just the processing fee.


What is this ??
This is just non sense.
I immediately blocked my card so that they can not deduct any more money.

This message needs to be spread to all people.

I had opted a Health Card from M/s. Artha Health Options, couple of years ago. As their services were inefficient, I did not avail any benefits from their health card. Hence, I did not renew the same.

Recently I got a call from M/S Artha health Options persuading me to renew the cardt. They cajoled me with assurance of better services. I cautiously opted only for Master Health checkup option. I got the Master Health Check voucher for a sum of Rs. 1994/-. For obtaining the said voucher, Artha charged my Citi Bank credit card for Rs.1994 on 18/10/2010.

Again a sum of Rs.11,000/- was charged from my Citi Bank credit card without my permission and knowledge on November 5, 2010 for which the authorised person from M/S.Artha Health Options apologised for the same and compensated with a Gold Package for three years instead of one year. Therefore I have accepted the health credit.

However the representative of Artha visited me to get my signature on the merchant voucher. As I had not received any Voucher for Gold Package of three years, I refused to sign the voucher. But representative of Artha took the credit card impression as identity proof that was needed to dispatch the Gold card package.

I state that again a sum of Rs.11999 and Rs.8000/- was charged to my Citi Bank credit card without my knowledge, permission and authorisation on November 10, 2010.When I came to know about the said fact, on enquiry, I was informed that I have consented for the said transaction.

I state candidly I had not consented for the above said transactions. They sternly told that they cannot reverse the transactions and as “company policy” they cannot refund or cancel the card. While I was still talking to them, I got 2 sms alerts from Citi Bank about the transactions. I immediately got my Citi Bank credit reissued to avoid any more Artha Health options transactions on my card.

On the same day Mr.Syed, Area Sales Manager of Artha met me personally at my home. He again apologised and offered me lifetime “policy”. He also assured to refund Rs.5000/- the next day. I bluntly refused to Syed’s offer. I insisted him to cancel the card and refund the entire money. He, then, threatened me with dire consequences that every year he can charge my credit card inspite of me getting the credit card reissued.
I had not authorised Artha health options for transactions more than Rs.1994/-. But they have repeatedly charging my credit card without my knowledge, permission and authorisation by using my credit card details.

Meantime, I surfed on the internet to check the credentials of Artha Health Options. I was shocked to read that many of them have been duped in the exact similar manner. The copies of same are attached herewith. Artha Health options has been cheating the innocent general public by using credit card details from quite sometime.

I was also shocked when, I got another call from Altaf from “head office” on November 16t, informing that he has blocked another Rs.1.30 lacs on my credit card and he can charge my card accordingly.

To ‘close’ my account, he threatened me that they will charge Rs.1.3 lacs to my card immediately, if I do not agree for their terms. When I told him that I will take legal action, he again threatened me that in that case I’ll land up paying full amount immediately instead of paying in parts.

As it is an online transaction, Citi Bank Credit has washed of their hands. Citi Bank asked me to sort out the issue with Artha Health Options. With my credit card details, Artha Health options are persistently charging my account without my authorization. I want to put a stop to this immediately. I am not interested in their products either. Artha Health Options are are black mailing me and are bent upon charging my credit card and threatening me of dire consequences if I back out. I haven’t utilised any of their vouchers. So I want my hard earned money returned and take suitable action against Artha Health Options for having cheated me and for having misusing my money by using my credit card details.
