I had a meter that was installed at my shop in Sadar Bazar, Delhi, and I wanted its load increased so I applied with an application for the same(CRN No.1130058686), a technician came by and saw the meter and said that the terminals were burnt and it needed to be replaced(the meter was still in working condition and I was paying my bills), I again applied for a burnt meter replacement. Another technician came by and changed the meter, when he did replace it, he saw the connection cable inside the connection box was twisted together and not attached with a thimble as is mandatory which quite possibly caused the loose connection. Now a month later, not only am I getting inflated electricity bills, they are also asking me to pay extra 'arrears' which I can only presume is the cost for the meter which is an additional 2200Rs/-. Should a customer be liable to pay damages for something he wasn't responsible?. Moreover I had written an email to the online consumer care and even they haven't responded with any explanation. I thought that this was a service that they were providing and we were their customers, now I realise we are nothing more than slaves whose cries are not even worth being heard.
If somebody has a solution for this problem, please help me.
