    Default Exide battery complaint

    sir
I have purchased a exide battery from Yash enterprises ,OPP. Rangoli hotel, Dombivli [east ] Thane district , Maharashtra State . 0n 7th july 2008. This is invared tubular type 500+ batterry. This carry a 2year warrenty . I'm using this battery for my inverter at my residence. The same battery is not functioning properly since last 8 to 9 months. When I complaint at 1st your dealer did some repairing works an also filled distille water in it . But then it started drying up the distille water frequently and now the shopper has to fill water once in 15 to 20 days. So finally I checked the battery with one other technician and found that the battery is not functioning properly . So I went to the dealer and asked for replacement as it is still within the warranty period . But the dealer is relectant to provide proper service to me saying even though it is written in the warranty card that the warrenty is or 2years the company is providing the actual coverage only for 1and 1/2 years. Now it is very close to completion of the warrenty period , please advice me what to do or whom to approach .

    thanking you
    yours faithfully

    Default What you should know

    1) There are only really 2 companies that make lead acid batteries...Everybody else buys them from them under their own label.
    2) Exide (one of the makers) was having so much trouble with their batteries failing that back in 2005 they made changes to their business plan. Now you'd think that because their batteries were failing to live up to their warranty they would fix the batteries...right? No...they changed the way you can file under their warranty program. NOW...you have to have the original receipt to claim warranty benefits (no copies and the store can't file for you. Same batteries...just don't lose the receipt if you buy one. Your gonna need it in 18 months.

    Angry Exide Battery Replacement

    Sir,

I have purchased an Exide car battery (EM 35L), Mfg. code 1H9 & Sr. No. 008719 from Allied Distributor’s (Alok Agarwal) , D-359, Sector-10, Noida (UP) on 09/10/2009 and the battery has a warranty of 36 months. The same battery is not functioning properly since last one month. Water comes out from the one hole, when I complaint at 1st to your dealer, he told me that water will be more & reduce the water. Even water was equal in all holes, but i reduced the water but things are same.

So, I went to the dealer and asked for replacement/ rectify the problem as it is still within the warranty period. But the dealer is reluctant to provide proper service to me saying even though it is written in the warranty card that the warranty is for 3 years the company is providing the actual coverage only for 1 and 1/2 years. I also talked with free service number (3271 1111), they told me to go to nearby service stations.

I was very impressed with the quality of Exide batteries. I AM VERY SAD INDEED TO BECOME A EXIDE BATTERY CUSTOMER. Dealer is talking all rubbish & misbehaves (Recorded, if required will be present). Please do something urgently to stop anymore complaints. So, I request you to take action against dealer and kindly see to it.

Can't believe your accuracy in predicting. My Sukam SMF 150Ah battries failed just within 15 months (10 dayz to go). Dealer would'nt replace it without warranty cards. I was fortunate to find them.
