I would like to let you know that there are many maid servant providing agencies operating in Delhi which do charge us a commission which is over and above the amount written in the form which they make us fill.

I was in need of a maid and thus contacted such an agency and the person said that he would take Rs. 22,000 as his commission and I would also have to bear the transportation cost of him and the maid ..both to and fro.

He got a maid with him and said i could train her and see as I was to take her to Ahmedabad with me. When I read the form I asked him that the form has no mention of the Rs. 22,000 which he is asking for and he said that thats the rate ...

Then I did not pay and trained the maid and got her tickets done to go with me on the plane and just a day before she refused...Thankfully I had not given the Rs. 22,000 and they did not give me the money for the flight ticket as well...

He said he would send another maid as I told him I would go to the cops and not let this female go so he got a maid who could not understand my language Hindi nor could she speak in it and she had a wierd way of standing and smiling...

The point here is that these people are doing what they want and no one is there to look into their procedures.I wanted to ask you to please put this forward so that a solution for such cheats is taken out and they can only take whatever is legal.

I would request you to let me know whether we can together do something about this and if required I have the photograph of the maid who cheated me and as per the above owes me money .

I Feel these maid agencies should be monthly commission based as most of the maids work hardly a month and it is tough to recover commission amounts like Rs 22,000 frm these agency guys.This should be brought in public interest suit and a board to control these fly-by agencies should be put in place.

i thought of putting the case in consumer form. But have not taken any actions till date. Its tough to take out time and spend some more money for all this!!
