Thumbs down Airtel - Highly unprofessional and cheating

Sir,

This is with reference to my Airtel Landline and DSL service bearing number 0120-4258998 and account number 12423830. Since I no longer required the service, I gave a cancellation request for both services at their corporate office at Noida which was recieved by them on 28/11/2009. Their FTN/ Sr number for receipt of my request was 879812.

Unfortunately in good faith, I had opted for the auto debit facility for bill payments.

Since November of 2009, the billing for this number has not stopped and I have been receiving bills regularly even 8 months after I gave the cancellation request. Due to the auto debit facility, the amount also gets deducted automatically from my credit card.

I have got in touch with the customer care and have been given assurances that the billing would stop and all payments given so far will be refunded, alas this was never done. Below are the complaint numbers for my subsequent interactions:

1. 26 Jan 10 - Comp No: 28874254
2. 3 Mar 10 - Comp No: 30070780
3. 23 Mar 10 - Comp No: 30788006
4. 28 Apr 10 - Comp No: 32099190
5. 9 Jun 10 - Comp No: 33662294

Below is a summary of payment history so fat after request of termination of services:

Payment - Credit Card 06/02/2010 661.00

As Airtel did nothing after 6 interactions, I had to now cancel my credit card in order to stop payments.

I got another bill for the same account today confirming that the billing has not stopped as yet.

Can someone explain me why the services were never terminated and why bills with rental only are still generating? What has Airtel done for the complaints that I have made and how will I get a refund of all payments that Airtel has withdrawn from my credit card?

Since Airtel is deciding to keep mum I have also filed a complaint in Consumer resource and grivience redressal system.

Today I get a call from Airtel (Pintu) telling me that they can disconnect my services but they cannot process a refund from Nov 2009 till date even if I have not used the services at all and even if I have a recieved copy of disconnection request. On asking to be connected to Pintu's (if he gave his name right) manager he simply disconnected the call. Guys beware of Airtel especially if you intend to use auto-debit facility.
