I live in chennai and have been an Aircel customer for over 8 years now. I am apalled by the incorrect billing for an ISD call. When I called Aircel and talked to them, they told me that I had called a satellite phone. What is surprising is that calls made to the same number (Sweden) in April 2010 was charged Rs. 15 per minute; calls made during February 2010 to the number in Sweden was charged Rs.9.99 per minute. Please note that these are the charges posted on their website.
I don't get proof from Aircel that I called a satellite phone. How could this be? The marketing team just decides this and sends the bill? BTW, calls to satellite phones are charged at Rs. 500 per minute. My family has made calls to the same mobile number in Sweden using the BSNL landline and we were charged the ISD rates. Aircel and other cell providers have new charges? How can a regular mobile number that I had been calling and receiving calls for the past year become a satellite phone suddenly?
Please help me resolve this issue as my bill is exorbitant!!
I have proofs of my bills if required.
Thanks
