I applied airtel connection around 1st of July 2011. On the request, some guy named sathya showed up stating that he is from airtel's main branch of Chennai near Santhome High Road. He came and collected the advance amount for the connection. He said connection would be provided within 2 days. Well its a common statement from every service provider, i got misguided with the brand name "airtel". After hell a lot of struggle and calls, finally connection was provided. After 2 months, i had to move over to an another location in Chennai itself. I asked for relocation. I knew there we problems in my new area since it was highly populated area and airtel connection is hard to get. I confirmed from the customer care whether they can transfer the location, there was an obvious reply, yes sure... Still i was not satisfied, so i asked her to check the feasibility and call back. Well call back is something that never happens. Still i called up again and again and got it confirmed. Since i was in desperate need of internet, i knew this is something airtel can never do instantly without crushing every letter in the word customer, seeing the past experience, the impression airtel employee firmly established with me, i asked the airtel representative to do it in 2 days and until i get it transferred i wont be paying any bill. To this the airtel customer care confirmed that the connection will be disabled and it will be enabled once it gets transferred. As most young people in Chennai stay desperate, i was there getting desperate for an airtel connection. I made calls daily and there was recorded human voice saying we are processing... This continued for a week. May patience had little life left. Still i kept calling once in two days. Finally they said... they can transfer the connection, but since the area of the past and present connection are two different ends of the city the exchange through which the line is provided is different so a new number will be provided to me with no difference from the existing connection and the existing number would be disabled. I had a hick up.. still i said OK.. and kept my fury myself and get the connection transferred at all cause. My regular calls to customer care continued to next 15 days... and there was nothing new in the newspaper or from the response from airtel representative... the whole time. Finally i lost my patience after a few days and asked for an answer or i ain't hanging up. They told the connection is transferred to new exchange and they provided me a new land line number and said that the connection would be dropped in a day. Then the next week i got an another new land line number and well another 1 day to go... Then for about 15 days i had to hear work in progress.... Finally i lost every bit of patience i had... and called up the customer care and asked for a reply which had no difference so i forced them to connect me to their superior... she tried to manage and since i didn't give up.. she told there is some feasibility issue. Then to get it confirmed that they cannot transfer, it took another week.
And the funniest part they call me now and say i have rs.6500 pending. I replied to every call and described everything again and again. Finally i got a mail, asked me to reply else they will start collection procedure. I replied to the mail the said things... And there was no reply from them. Finally they call now and tell, they have registered a case against me and what i don't understand is without providing a legal notice.
It has been 6 months now, where they sleeping these much days or its a random function that runs and shows one name that can be charged any amount they like. There was no explanation on 6500 and still they prefer to claim it.
