I am a resident of J&K state. My name is Rajneesh Khajuria and I am employed in an IT company in Navi Mumbai. I planned to gift my parents a Sony Bravia 40 Inches LCd for Deepawali. I approached The Croma store in Thane(Ghodbunder Road,R Mall showroom) for prchasing the above sttaed equipment. I purchased the LCD TV in 42000 INR and got an Airtel Digital DTH free with it. I enquired about the validity of the offer as the installation was supposed to be done in J&K State. The sales person at the Croma store said that the offer is valid and the installation will be done in J&K at my residence address. I called up the Airtel DTH toll free humber 18001028080 for scheduling the installation before diwali on 19th of Oct 2011,and they assured me that once i do a recharge of 1750 INR the installation will be done within 48 hrs. I reached home on 21st Oct 2011 and recharged the account(Customer ID 3009070630) with an amount of 1750 INR after confirming with the Airtel DTH rep about the validity of the offer as it was stated on the Activation Kit that the offer was not valid for Sony Bravia LCD purchases in J&K. However the DTH rep said that since the purchase was made from Thane in Maharashtra,the offer is valid and the installation will be done in 48 hrs after the recharge on the Customer id 3009070630 is done and the installation order is booked.
I was assured repeatedly by the Airtel DTH people and I finally got the recharge done for 1750 INR. Thereafter I tried to call and enquire about my Digital TV Installation and I was given a run around with atleast 20 dropped calls after the DTH Customer care reps were unable to resolve or provide me a satisfactory answer regarding my installaion. I made almost 45-50 calls with an average of almost 10-12 calls a day to know what was wrong,but everytime i called,they asked me about my SONY Bravia LCD Model Number and Serial Number and told me that the slot for an Installation has been booked and I will be contacted by someone from their side from my local distributor.One day i was given the number for their local Nodal officer and he refered me to a local AIRTEL DTH Dealearship in my area Named MAHESH INFOTEL Located at Kalibari Chowk in Kathua city J&K. I called them up and they gave me a bigtime runaround saying that the recharge was not supposed to be done from anyone else except them and then they agreed to send an engineer and no one has arrived to my residence since past 5 days. My patience broke and I was finally transferred to the senior desk on 26th Oct 2011 and a customer care supervisor located in Indore call centre spoke to me and said that he will mark an email to the regional manager and someone will get back to me in 24 hrs. Past 24 hrs no one got back to me and I called up these people again and they tested my patience to the core and again after an assurance by a rep named Pooja I was never called back. Iam still waiting for the installation of my Airtel DTH that i got free along with Sony Bravia LCD and I am struck with AIRTEL DTH as I have spent an amount of 1750 INr as a recharge done for it and numerous phone calls that would amount to thousands from my roaming Mumbai Number.
Please help me in getting this mess resolved,have my Digital DTH receiver installed and working.
