Instead of moaning about Google you need to check your own internet connection.. most probabbly its your DNS which is playing up as I use Gmail almost all day long and I dont remember having any service outage in the last 6 years that I have been using Gmail.
Try Google's DNS service and see if that helps.. Google it.
