Cleartrip is ripping off the customers and cheating us badly!!!

I booked 2 one way tickets from Bangalore to NY for my parents who hold a tourist visa through Cleartrip. I booked the tickets one way ONLY because we were not sure what their exact return date would be. (It also depends on how much stay they are allowed at the port of entry). Cleartrip sent me an email with the confirmed tickets. AFTER this, they sent me an email stating that for tourist visa holders, it is mandatory to have a return ticket else they will not be allowed to board the flight. They should have informed me about this BEFORE they confirmed the ticket. Now they are telling me that if I cancel the ticket I will be charged Rs.10,000. If I book the return ticket separately I will be paying almost Rs.40,000 extra!! Basically they are making us pay extra by hiding information!!! All I am asking them is to modify my existing booking and make it a return trip. But they are hell bent on making money by charging me the cancellation charges or making me book a separate return trip. I never expected this from such a reputed website. Please let me know if I can sue the website. This is a horrible experience.

Thank you for contacting Cleartrip via this channel, however, we would like to bring it to your notice that as a 3rd party Ticket booking agents, our responsibility is to let our customers know that Most airlines don't allow travellers with a tourist visa to book one-way flights from the origin, unless they have a return ticket or an onward ticket to the next destination and the same is clearly mentioned at the time of booking.
