    Angry Customer Grievance against Yatra.com

    Hi,

Ref: Ticket no.: EK/ETKT 176 7864142012, Yatra booking reference no. O33WI7Z

My name is Sorabh Garg and I am in a very unfortunate situation, where the travel agent and the airlines has been playing unfair with me.

I had booked return tickets from JFK, New York to Mumbai dated 12th May 2010, return of 3rd July, 2010 from Yatra.com on an Emirates flight, I told the lady from Yatra on the phone that I am not sure of my return date and I might return in September, she told me that in that case I would just have to reschedule the tickets from 3rd July to any date in September for $150 and $300 in case I need to cancel it, I agreed to that.

When I come to Mumbai and want to extend my tickets to September 6th, they disregard what they had promised me and asked me to talk to Emirates.
I talked to Emirates and they say that my ticket cannot be extended as it comes under special low fares whose validity is 2 months only, I told them that I was told by my booking agent Yatra.com that I could extend my return dates for $150 and cancel for $300. They told me that they can't help me and I need to talk to Yatra.com directly for that since they made those claims.
I approached Yatra again and they told me that they can't extend the dates too.

Yatra.com hadn't notified me that the ticket was valid for 2 months only, they should have done so while selling me the tickets so that I could have made a better decision, now they are not honouring their word.
I told them it is very unprofessional to go back on their words and they should atleast cancel the tickets if not extend for the fee of $300, but they denied cancelling it too.
I talked to Emirates again and they told me extension was not possible and they can cancel it but I won't get a single penny for cancellation (doesn't make any sense!)
Yatra then made me an offer of extending the tickets to September 2nd for $746, which includes $400 for extension and $346 flight charges difference.
They are now going back on their own words from not being able to extend tickets to extending it for $400 instead for the said $150 before.

I am distraught by their behavior and would like you to advise me and take appropriate action against them.

    Please reply back to me.

    Regards

    Exclamation fictrie were

    I booked a return domestic ticket DEL->LKO->DEL on 29th OCT 10 using yatra.com (it says Flight cost + insurance = Rs. 3322.00)

I got Confirmed Eticket on mail.

I called goAir to recheck the PNR numbers i had in the Eticket.

GoAir said Rs 1400x4=5600 payment pending on these tickets.

I called Yatra.com and informed about GoAir feedback. They said a customer representative will talk to you in one hours. and never reverted back. flights are scheduled 2nd Nov & 4th Nov and my parents are traveling.

Still don't know what is status.

It seems a case of fraud where costumer is attracted with lower flight cost and then Forced to pay additional amounts more than the original booking itself.

Default EMIRATES AIRLINES - NO REFUND - reg.

    Sir,

I had a bad experience with Emirates. Please assist me because now i'm getting a feeling that all the inconvenience to the customers is not a 'one odd case' but the Airlines intentional attitude.

I am an Orthopaedic Surgeon, I was previously serving in Libya. Reference is made to booking Id H8RRFB. I have the following to say:

    1. Flight booking was done on through an Agent for Emirates Airline flight from Tripoli to Mumbai for 04 (four) passengers (Three Adults & an infant) for the travel on 26th Feb 2011.

    2. I received an email from Emirates regarding the conformation of same which is still saved on my e-mail.

    3. This was a connecting flight for the pax via Dubai as they were moving from Tripoli to Mumbai. Travel from Tripoli to Dubai and onward to Mumbai was from Emirates Airline only. Also, I want to bring out this to your notice that the pax were moving on Final Exit from Tripoli to Mumbai along with an infant about a year old.

    4. After reaching Tripoli Airport, I was told by the Authorities that all outbound flights of Emirates had been suspended till further orders. There was no option for us to return back. The situation of Libya at the time is known by one and all. We were stuck; Agent who booked out ticket had closed his shop. There was no escape for us.

    5. By grace of God, WE escaped from that country. Emirates were bound to inform the passengers for cancellation of flight and should have made alternative return ticket if we have booked on their flight. On contacting your staff on customer care number, I was told by your executive - Melwyn Fernandes that my money of the ticket will be refunded to the agent and not me. I PAID FOR THE TICKETS BY CASH AND THE AGENT BOOKED THE TICKET ON MY BEHALF, ALSO THE AGENT HAS ESCAPED AND SHUT HIS SHOP DUE TO THE SITUATION IN LIBYA. NOW I HAVE COME ON FINAL EXIT AND CANNOT GO TO THE AGENT FOR CLAIMING REFUND. YOUR COMMENT THAT THE MONEY WILL BE REFUNDED TO AGENT IS NOT JUSTIFIABLE AT NOT FAULT OF OURS. I HAVE PAID MY HARD EARNED MONEY AND BOUGHT THE TICKET. I AM ALSO THE FREQUENT FLIER OF EMIRATES. WHY SHOULD I SUFFER LOSS WHEN I WAS TRAVELLING BY YOUR FLIGHT. YOU HAD CLOSED THE FLIGHT AND IT WASN'T MY FAULT.

    6. I was stuck in helpless situation as no flights were available to go to Mumbai/India. There was no one in Libya from Emirates who could help me. In such a critical situation, I was running around from one terminal to another, requesting (rather literally begging) from one window to another, along with my family, my 1 year old infact grand daughter and luggages. Moreover, I was also not having much cash with me at that point of time.

    6. From that day onwards. I have been calling regularly for my refund to Emirates but it is falling on deaf ears. MY REFUND IS STUCK.

    7. In regard to my case, I have the following demands:

    (I) REFUND OF MY TICKET AMOUNT ALONG WITH INTEREST OF 12%.

(II) COMPENSATION OF RS. 5,00,000/- FOR THE MENTAL HARASSMENT AND AGONY THAT ME , MY FAMILY AND MY 1 YEAR OLD INFANT GRAND DAUGHTER HAD GONE THROUGH BECAUSE OF YOUR AIRLINE APART FROM THE FINANCIAL TURBULENCE CAUSED. ALSO, NOT INFORMING AND AWARING THE PASSENGERS OF CANCELLED FLIGHT, AND NOT ARRANGING EXIT DESPITE PURCHASING YOUR HIGH END TICKETS AT LAST MOMENTS.

    8. This is for your information and necessary action.

    9. If the above demands are not fulfilled within 24 hours, i'm set to file complaint in Consumer Court.

    Thumbs down excessive charging

    1. Yatra charges in excess to its customers. On 02 nov 11. I booked a tictet from delhi to mumbai with Yatra booking no: 8094884 and paid Rs 3672/- as fare with Indigo airlines being a defence officer whereas the same ticket on Indigo airlines booking site is available for Rs 2900/- till date.
    2. It is disgusting that yatra is fradulantly charging excess fares from its customers.
    3. I appeal to all customers to book their tickets through airline sites and avoid fraudulent service providers such as yatra

    Dear
    Customer,

    Greetings
    of the day from yatra.com

    We
regret the delay in responding to your post on the forum & the
inconvenience this may have caused you. The fares displayed on our website
are based on the results provided to us by the respective airline. Fares are
extremely dynamic on the domsetic sector and we did show you the final price
before payment confirmation on the above booking. In case Indigo was running
any promotional offer or scheme at their end while you booked tickets, that
    is completely airlines discretion.

    Dear Yatra Team,

I made Airline booking with below details:

Chandigarh-Delhi—Dated for 31 Oct. 2011 ( Booked on 10 Oct. 2011). There was full refund due to change in schedule of flight without any intimation. The full refund was duly signed by Mr. Ram Malhotra (Duty Officer of Airlines )on the very same date of flight when we reached airport .( i.e. 31/10/2011).

I called to your employee Ms Shubi or Shurbhi Rathore and she told me that Full refund has been processed and will be refunded into your account ( Card which I has used for Transaction ) within next three days. But not refund and no reply. She even didn’t gave me complaint number and mislead me. This type of behavior can lead slowly and slowly dissatisfaction of customer on Yatra.com.

when again I contacted Yatra office on 07 Nov. 2011 I had contact with Ms. Karishma and she confirmed no request has been processed.
She gave me the Yatra ref. number for my request of refund after lot’s of my humble request. It is 7367317.

The airline ticket is attached in mail for your ready ref. Plz help to get my refund for which I was struggling on your Customer contact Number but all in vain till date.

Plz feel free to contact me at below given numbers anytime in case of any issue.

    Kind Regards
    Gagan Rana
