AI-9702 on 03.02.12 from Dimapur (DMV) to Kolkata (CCU) was delayed by 2 hr and my husband missed connecting Indigo flight (6E-404) to Mumbai and had to cancel his onward train tkt to Bharuch (Train No#12927) from Borivali, Mumbai. Before boarding at DMV, he requested the AI staff Mr. Mitra & Mr. Longkumar, to take necessary steps to avoid missing connecting flt from CCU airport but no action were taken by them. He also met AI, CCU Airport Duty Mgr after landing and tried to reason with him to accomodate him in AI flt to Mumbai which was yet to take off. He refused & told me cutly that he is not responsible for my connecting flt by other airlines. Indigo was kind enough to accomodate him in next day flt (04/02) 6E-318 but he had to pay Rs.2250/- extra. He also incurred another Rs.700/- for staying at Airport dormitory and another Rs.1200/- towards fooding. Though he was informed by AI call centre on 03/02 at 11 hr about the 1.15 Hr delay but it was then too late for rescheduling. AI should pay my husband Rs.4170/- towards cost incurred due to tkt rescheduling and another Rs.5000/- towards physical & mental harassment.
