Please find below the mail that I posted to SRS Travels. All details are provided in the mail:
To the concerned,
I had booked a SRS bus ticket from Bangalore to Trivandrum for 04/Nov/2011 through redbus. The bus was scheduled for departure at 8.30pm. The bus finally arrived at Madivala at 9.30pm, the reason for the delay being heavy traffic from Kalasipalayam to Madivala.
The bus stopped at 3 points in between the journey, not any of them being a decent place for refreshment. The driver chose these stops as it suited him for having tea and a cigarette.
Only after 4.00am in the morning were passengers aware that the driver had planned not to enter Kerala and 'dispose' of all the passengers at Nagercoil railway station, since there was a motor vehicle strike in Trivandrum on 05/Nov/2011. Please also consider the fact that the bus already had a delayed start and the driver was making unscheduled stops in the middle of the night for his personal reasons. The fact that the final stop would be Nagercoil was never communicated to any of the passengers before the journey. On requesting the driver that the strike would not affect private inter-state vehicles, he was rude and did not even try to understand. It was deplorable considering the fact that there were passengers with infants and those who were traveling to attend funerals of relatives on time. The bus reached Nagercoil only at 8.00am when it was actually supposed to reach Trivandrum at 7.30am. I even tried calling the head office in Bangalore and asked them to request the driver to carry on till TVM. They were not only of no help but displeased about a passenger calling for help in the morning hours. They finally stopped attending to me.
I was considering raising a case in the Consumer Court for my waste of time and money, the poor service from the office staff and the 'Hitleresque' behavior of the driver. If you have the slightest decency and consideration for your passengers I demand you please respond to this mail.
With regret and no regards,
