Angry False allegations by IRCTC regarding TDR filing

Hi,

This is Vikash Gupta. I was using IRCTC user id for IRCTC log in.

On 13th Oct'2010, I got a mail from IRCTC claiming that I have filed a false TDR claim against PNR No:-2165310664 and that my user-id has been de-activated. They claimed that I have travelled and still have claimed for refund.

I would like to clarify and ask below questions from IRCTC :
  • When you are asking a question about any TDR giving only the PNR number, how could anyone be sure of details of any PNR or TDR claims when you have already deactivated the user-id through which TDR or PNR details can be verified ?
  • I tried searching my emails for the given PNR and found that the PNR in question is regarding my travel 10 months ago [Date14-10-2009]. I am amazed why this has been put-up so late ?
  • On searching my emails, I found below details of PNR 2165310664

Train No 2191 Train Name NDLS JBP SUP EX
    From NDLS To AGC
    Date14-10-2009 Class SL
Boarding Point NDLS Reservation Upto AGC
    Quota General
    S#NameAge***Seat/BerthCoachStatus
    1VIKASH GUPTA028Male0045S1CONFIRM
    2ROZY GUPTA026Female0048S1CONFIRM
    Total Fare 00000280
  • On searching my emails, I also found that I have also received on more email from IRCTC on 21 Jan'2010 that refund is not possible as informed by Railways.Since the amount was not much (Rs. 280, from New delhi to Agra, Vikash Gupta/ Rozy Gupta), I decided to ignore the refund but less did I know that IRCTC will do this to me almost after 1 year when anybody could have forget all the details of the PNR or TDR.
  • Now about the TDR claimed. I still insist that TDR claimed was absolutely correct. I have filed the TDR as it was being announced on the platform that the train would be late for more than 3 hrs and I could not cancel the ticket from there as I booked the ticket online. I travelled through ASR-NED express(2716) on the same day (two tickets booked from ticket counter at NDLS Rly Station Vikash Gupta/Rozy Gupta). The same can be verified as the tickets booked for ASR-NED exp were in sleeper coach. My seats in train no. 2191 must have been assigned to somebody else illegally.
  • I replied back to IRCTC on 13th Aug'2010 itself but till date my user-id has not been activated. My issue is not only the false allegations but the problems being faced by me because of deactivation of my user-id. I need to travel on any one date in the current month and upcoming month due to some personal reasons and hence I have got booked tickets on every weekend of this month (1 coming + 1 returning). I need to cancel my tickets as and when required as I need to travel on any one weekend only. I cannot cancel the tickets on my own as my user-id is not active.

Because of all above reasons, I would like to escalate the matter to Consumer court. I would also like to apply for not only the TDR amount with interest but the compensation for the false allegation and inconvenience caused to me by IRCTC.

Can anybody guide me about the process, how can I apply for the same.

Thanks in advance.
Vikash

Hi,
I am also facing exactly the same issue.
I have my tickets for tommorow evening, which i can't cancel now.
Their customer care number is always busy or no one responds.

Let me know how you plan to go about it.

you can still get the ticket cancelled. Send a mail to etickets@irctc.co.in with the PNR number.
This is workaround and is easy if you have only one ticket to be cancelled but I have to cancel/book so many tickets due to some personal reasons in the current month and next month and it's a headache to keep track of all the tickets by searching in your emails. All the best for your matter..

Angry

By mistake, I mentioned the date '13th Oct' in my first post, however, the date was "13th Aug'10".

IRCTC people say the email be replied or the matter be solved within 7 working days. It's been 19 days and no one from IRCTC has bothered to look into the matter. Customer care no. "011-23340000" never gets connected, shows connection error and "011-23344787" never picks up the call. Do these guys wake up from their sleep ever or customer care is just there to fool the customers. I believe, India is the only country where customer is never a king rather first they pay and then they starve for the services for which they pay and this is only because the sellers know that nothing is going to happen to them, they do not fear the law here. One of the biggest reason is that "These sellers have never faced strong action against them by the government"

I have replied 3 times over my first email to IRCTC and I even mentioned in my third email that I will be going to Consumer court against them yet no reply and the reason we all know "No strong action against them yet. No fear aginst law".

If in private sector, people can be fired against their irresponsible behavior, why can't these people working behind IRCTC can be fired. We need zero-tolerance policy in each of the government sector to bring the country back on track. We just want services in lieu of our payments made to sellers and nothing else and nothing less.

Is there anyone listening to this. No one, including admin, has replied to the private email/thread. Is there any hope left in this country ? No wonder, educated young generation likes to migrate from this country which is turning from heaven to hell for common people and all credit goes to the govt machinery and their attitude.

Default False allegations by IRCTC regarding filling of TDR

Filling of TDR against untravelled ticket under PNR Number 2408730009 was declared by railway as false case. When I submit my clarifications that I had actually not travelled on the ticket and the discrepancy is on the part of railway itself the concerned user id i.e. "prvn1959" was also deactivated subsequently without hearing my voice in this regard. Even after making all the possible efforts I could not convince the railway authorities that no body with high reputation will opt to file false TDR just for Rs.300(+).
