Dear Sir,

This is to bring to your notice the inconvenience that we had while travelling by train.

Amrapali Express(5707) running on 01/07/2009 did not have seats numbered 65 to 72. This was so because all the side middle berths were detached and hence were missing from the coach. The seats in the coach were re numbered from 1-64 .

As a result we did not have our booked seats 70(SL) and 72 (SU). This led to great inconvenience as I was travelling with my wife.

Now when I filed for TDR asking for appropriate refund , railway authorities replied - "4366-NR/7 Passenger Travelled in same class. No Refund is due. The case is repudiated."

The point which I would like to stress upon is that -
How does a passenger know well in advance that his alotted berths will be missing from the coach ? Also the boarding station was Gorakhpur where train does not stop for more than around 10-15 minutes. So in this case once I have entered the coach , only option left with me was to travel in the same class.
I travelled in the same class but seats were not alotted to me.

Hence this is definitely a case where in Railways must refund me some appropriate amount.

Kindly look into this case.
