Respected Sir / Madam,
I am Ameenshah. I reserved a ticket in "PALANDU Superfast Express -2747" on 2/10/2010 dating the journey for 3/10/2010 from Guntur to Secundrabad PNR no: 134-7350365. The train departures at 5:45 am. But I missed the train as it left the station earlier i.e. at around 5:30 am itself. And i came to know about it from other commuters who too missed it.
Then i waited for the next train i.e. "SABARI Express - 7229" which arrived at 7:40 am. I went up to the counter and asked the Ticket Issuer at the ticket Issing window, whether I could travel in the train with the same ticket That I booked for PALANDU Train. They Said that we can travel in any train goes to Secundrabad from Guntur. I boarded the train in the General Compartment with the ticket, same day i.e. 3/10/2010. The Train Left the Station at around 8:15 am.
At around 10:30 am a TT saw the ticket and said its not a valid ticket. I asked him the reason for his statement. He said the ticket cannot be used as I have taken it for PALANADU TRAIN and asked me to pay the penalty as well as ticket fare that sums to 390/-. I said it won't be paid as I have asked the counter person at the station regarding it and got a +ive signal from them. He started using filthy language and asked either to pay me the amount immediately or else would hand over me to the RPF at the next station i.e. NADIKUDI. This went for about Half-an-Hour. I was in a hurry on an urgent work so I paid him the said amount.
Later, at the Secundrabad Station I met the Station Master and Said I was fined unnecessarily, and explained him the whole incident. He agreed that it was the TT fault, but could do nothing as NADIKUDI does not come under Secundrabad Area. Hence could not repay me the amount.
I was not only the person to be fined, they were many other commuters. I would like to know
1. What would be my position if he had handed over to the RPF or at that time I did not carry money.
2. Can no action on any TTs be taken, as said by the STATION MASTER though the Sector is one at the center i.e. INDIAN RAILWAYS.
3. Can't I get my money back.
