    Default TDR refund

    Hi Sir

I have filled a TDR against the PNR Number: 2541610025 on 1st Nov 2010.
The train was late by 5 hours and the passengers did not travel.

The refund period of 90 days has already passed but the site still shows TDR Status: Forwarded To Railway.

Kindly do the needful as soon as possible.

    Unhappy

    Hello Sir,

It seems my case is similar to lot of others regarding TDR cancellations of IRCTC booked tickets.

    My TDR ref. no. ekt200910300748335.

I am corresponding with IRCTC since last one year for my refund. But all they are doing is telling me that they have forwarded my papers to Railways for refund. Every time I make a complaint, they tell me that they have sent reminder to Railways along with my set of papers and that they can do nothing more than that. I have mails received from the TDR process unit. I think they are not serious enough to pay the refund.

Recently, I had filed an online complaint no. 21757/3/2010 on 24th Dec. 2010 through core.nic.in also.

After 1 and half months I got an e-mail message from IRCTC's TDR process yesterday (2nd Feb. 2011) and their message is as under:

REGRET Dear Customer, With Reference to your PNR No:4211047709, we regret to inform you that refund is not admissible as informed by Railways through their letter no : RF/1152/VIP/CHG/10/28.6.10/NR and the reason being : 713-NR/56 TDR was not filed within prescribed time limit for getting the benefit of train running late as such no refund could be arrenged & claim for refund of fare is repudiated. In case you require any further assistance, please mail us at tdrprocess@irctc.co.in or call us on 011-23345900 With regards, TDR TEAM.

My reply sent to IRCTC by return mail on 2nd Feb. 2011 is as under:

I totally disagree with the railways as well as your statement.
Our journey was scheduled for 2nd Oct, 2009 afternoon and the said train was late by more than 36 hours, hence we had cancelled the ticket by TDR process on 3rd oct. 2009 night, well within the stipulated time of cancellation which is 72 hours for online bookings through IRCTC.

However, I fail to understand how my claim does not meet the requirement. It am quite sure that my claim is correct and registered well within time. It is total negligence of IRCTC itself which has put me to loss.

Hence, I may be refunded the total amount due to me plus the interest thereon for delaying the payment for so long.

Please view this as a serious matter and you are requested to accept the fault at your end for which I am being made a scapegoat.
I hope I am clear now.

I feel cheated as I have made cancellation well within time. Sir, I request your kind self to guide me in this matter as I think the late was from IRCTC side as it is clear from their e-mails that they have forwarded the case for the 1st time to railways on 10th Oct. 2009.
Please help me in getting my refund back, I would be grateful.

Default TDR refund still pending after more than 120 days

    Dear Sir,

I had filed an online TDR for the e-ticket booked through IRCTC.

    PNR Number: 2639815353
    Transaction ID: 0252543432
    Booked On: 16-9-2010
    Date Of Journey: 21/9/2010
    Railway Zone: NRBSB
    Ticket Charge: Rs 434.00
    Total: Rs 454.00
    Train No: 2205
    From Station: H NIZAMUDDIN(NZM)
    To Station: DEHRADUN(DDN)
    TDR Filing Date: 22-Sep-2010
    Reason For TDR: Train Cancelled.
    Reason For TDR: Train Cancelled.
    Reference No: ekt2010092201626967
    IRCTC Zone: CCM/Claims Northern Railway,Station Building,Varanasi
    TDR Zone: NRBSB

When no action was taken even till 29th Jan 2011, as directed by the customer care at IRCTC I had sent a mail at tdrprocess@irctc.co.in. To this I received an automated reply as follows.

Dear Customer, Sorry for the inconvenience.Kindly note that your refund case of PNR No.2639815353 has been forwarded to CCM/NRBSB Railway on 01-Oct-2010 As refund is yet to be received from concerned railway, we have sent a reminder on 2-February-2011 with all the papers pertaining to your refund case to concerned railway. As soon as refund, if any, received it will be credited to your card account. With regards, TDR TEAM

The minimum time for refund to be credited into the account is 90 and if nothing is done even after 120 days that is totally uncalled for. On top of that an automated mail that not even states the exact date by which the refund would be received but only loosely states that 'As soon as refund, if any, received it will be credited to your card account.' only adds to one's irritation.

I have complied to all the rules pertaining to the filling of TDR and have filed it well within 72 hours. There should be no reason for delay.

Request you to kindly look into the matter and take the action at the earliest.

    Regards,
    Anika Agarwal

    Default reasons for tdr

tdr ref ekt 2011042502482835 filed today. two tkts with pnr nos 4228491012,4427117805 were booked for same passengers because in the second tkt which is in 2A only one passenger tkt was in RAC and the remaining were in w/l.As the a/c tkt money for the waitlisted tkts is not refunded and more over accommodation was provided in 2A during the journey by the TTE for wait listers also. so the first tkt (sl)money which was not availed may please be refunded. pl. compare passengers names in both the tickets which are for the same train and same day.
