Autowala's in Aundh, Pune Maharshtra never use meter for charges. They have fixed rate of 20 rs even though if it does not cover minumum distance.

When we ask them they say "yahi rate hai". I think this is a joint venture of all autowalas.

Even when they have to go outside aundh, no matter what place no matter what time they always have their own rates or they ask for half return even in day time and while going in good area.

I dont understan why goverment have given rate chat they should circulate their own chart goverment should not bother about giving rate charts to rickshaw walas.

Please take my complain into consideration. This is going on with every auto walal in Aundh and since long.

I think we all (IT Professionals) are only responsible to appreciate them to do this. becase we are always ready to pay them high amount because of our lack of timing. I found that they are sitting ideal but not ready to come for short distance and if ready then asking for unexpected amount.

These are a few problems that we are facing with the Auto waala's here:
1. They are not ready to turn on their meter
2. They ask for any price for short distance
3. In the evenings, their charges are even higher
4. If they come to know that you are new to pune, they will take you for a city tour and charge anything.

Some of the real life instances (that I have faced) are listed below:
1. The auto waala's at Hingewadi charge Rs. 80 for going till Wakad Chowk
2. The auto waala's at Kalyani Nagar charge Rs. 80 for going till Viman Nagar after 10 pm
3. My sister once paid Rs. 500 from Station to Pimple Saudagar (@ 5 am)
4. They charge flat Rs. 20 for a distance upto 1 km
5. I was once travelling from Aundh to Baner, and the auto waala asked for Rs. 40 saying that "Mai toh bas Rs.15 hi zyaada maang raha hoon !!!"

HOW RTA will check the faulty meters, Autowala never charge as per meter reading. They will always demand anything they want. From Wakad bridge to phase-2 autowala is charging 150 rs. The six seater autowala is taking 15 Passengers in six seater auto. After doing this then also autowala is getting favor from road police/traffic police because the are paying hafta to these people. For all nuisance behavior and dadagiri of autowala the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) is responsible. If any accident happened then for that the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) will be responsible auowala is paying and then try to recover his paid amount. But the main responsible person are authority who is giving permission to these autowala for doing whatever they want. The six seater auto rikshwa no. MH 14 BA 2673( White color ) rikshawala had slaped the infosys guy last week. I was there aat that time and he said he is having good contact with traffic police you cant do anything against me. We are paying money to these peoples so they will support to us only. The six seater auto wala has loaded 14 passengers in his auto and he has take all passengers from hinjewadi to phase 3 first then cam to phase 2. he demanded 30 rs for phase 2 forcefuly. When all guys and girls said ki bhiya 15 hi lete hai sub. he said maa chuaa mai 30 leta hooo. paise doo aur chlate bano. This was happened because the authority like traffic police is supporting then to do this. Here I am requesting authority to take appropriate action again such type of incidents otherwise soon the day will come when every body will suffer autowala, authority as well as commen public.
