I had booked a cab on 1st June 2010 for travel from my home in Bangalore to Bangalore International Airport.
The booking was made around 11:30 AM in the morning and I had asked the cab to be present at my address by 5:30 PM. My flight was at 8:25PM.
At 5:09PM I got a message from meru cab (No. +912244224422) that Cab no. KA0306092 would reach at 5:30PM.
I started calling the driver(whose number was shared in the mentioned SMS) from 5:15 PM to know the status. The driver was not sure about the address. He was very new to the city. Till 5:45 he was still in his office in Hennur and he handed over the phone to somebody else who started asking me the directions.
I gave the directions as clearly as possible to both of them. Inspite of repeated calls the driver did not reach the specified address on time.
At exactly 6:00PM in the evening I called up the call centre of Meru Cab (44224422) to know the status of the cab. The person on the line told spoke to the driver and told me me that the cab would be there in 2 mins.
However the cab reached me only at 6:15PM.
The driver did not knew the way to the airport and told me that he is new to the city. To prove it he told me that the cab was only 3 days old and had only driven 1250 odd kms.
I had to guide him to the airport.
Because of the cab arriving late we reached the airport only at 8:15PM. We were not allowed to board and missed our flight.
As a result we had to book us new tickets for the next day which costed me Rs.22,500/-
The catchline of Meru says "RELY ON US" and I did so. And I have paid the price. Will Meru take the responsibility of me missing my flight?
Shouldn't I drag Meru to the court for the inconvenience caused, mental trauma suffered, anxiety and the huge economic loss for me?
