    Angry Cox and kings kolkata cheated us

    Dear Sir/ Madam,

    It is with extreme disgust that I am posting this complaint to your esteemed authority.

    My friend Ms Abanti Sen and I (Ms Subrata Basu) had booked a holiday package with COX AND KINGS (Kolkata branch) from Sep 29- Oct 4 for Bangkok and Pattaya.

    I am listing down the woes that we had to encounter which turned our holiday into a nightmare.

    1st woe: Sep 29, we land at Bangkok at around 3pm and were detained in the airport by the Guide Barry for more than 3 hours before we were transferred to Pattaya. The detainment and delay was due to a complete confusion, which he did not try to sort out for us and behaved very rudely, when we tried to follow up with him. By the time we reached Pattaya, the evening was lost. And our time wasted!

    2nd woe: The hotel at Pattaya (Golden Beach) had big ants in the bed linen. There was water dripping from the bathroom ceiling and nobody came to repair inspite of repeated requests. Flies and mosquitoes were a regular sight in the dining area. The hotel staff were very rude. When we asked for disposal bags, one hotel staff asked my friend to accompany him to fetch it !!!!!!!!!!!! We were shocked.

    Final Blow: On Oct 2nd, the Bangkok hotel (Royal Park View) in which we were checked into was a shady and filthy hotel. It seemed it hadn’t been used for many years. Cockroaches sprung out, and the bathtub had fungus. Woodwork was chipped off and there were layers of dust all around. The room was so dimly lit that some parts of the room could not be seen. We didn’t know what to do! We tried calling up COX AND KINGS Kolkata team, but nobody answered our calls. Then we managed to speak to David the contact person in Bangkok. He agreed and admitted that the hotel is not all stay friendly and he has encountered complaints from erstwhile guests. He had earlier reported this to COX AND KINGS but they insisted that he continues bookings there or else it would negatively impact their profits! He finally agreed to help us find a better hotel and then late night we checked into Grand Mercure in Sukhumvit at an additional cost of 2700 bhat each. We had to carry our luggage and walk from one hotel to another. By this time, we had lost that evening too, and our outing plans had gone for a toss!

    In the meantime, when we got through the branch Manager of COX AND KINGS Kolkata and the Operations Head Sanchari Palit, they refused to listen to us and hear us out, and behaved very rudely before hanging up on us. Needless to mention, that our mobile phone bills were rising at the ISD roaming rates.

    Our friends and relatives have shared with us that they have had a better, more comfortable, peaceful, enjoyable and luxurious holiday in the same budget as ours.
    It was such a harrowing experience, that we have decided never to avail the services of COX AND KINGS and have also recommended friends and relatives against them.

    The highlight is that COX AND KINGS never bothered to revert or even call us up after that and give us any feedback or explanation or even hear us out. After waiting for close to 3 months now, we are compelled to write to your kind authority and request for advice for strict action against them. They have wasted our hard earned money and our precious time. They have cheated us and have harassed us!


    Await your advice. We have photographs and all the supportings and can submit to your kind authority as and when required.
