This is to bring to your notice that online portal www.travelchacha.com,on the name of providing low cost tickets is actually cheating consumers.

I had booked 3 tickets from Ahmedhabad to Mumbai (Indigo Airlines) on 3rd August 2010 whose travel date is 27 Oct 2010. After the booking full amount of approx 6000 INR was charged to me on my credit card,but I have not received any e-tickets for my booking,whose reference no is ANDQKP.

I have been continously trying to call them on their helpline no (0) 9999 303030/ 91 11 45 08 08 08. The mobile number (9999 303030) is provided above on their site is unavailable.
Whenever I try calling them in other number (91 11 45 08 08 08) they put me on hold for 30-40 mins. After so long wait when I provide them with my reference no ANDQKP,they say you will get tickets by tommorow morning and directly hang up.

If their executives at help line nos are asked for their name they hesitate to and do not disclose their name.

The e-mail which they had send after booking ticktes has a airline (Indigo) PNR no as LCCOW6E. Tired by follow up with travelchacha,when I directly called the Indigo Airlines to confirm the status of this PNR number they said that this is NOT a VALID PNR and there has been no booking done for Ahmedhabad to Mumbai (Indigo Airlines) for 27 Oct 2010.

TravelChacha defends saying that their server is down and so they are not able to mail the tickets. In that case if they cannot mail e-tickets,atleast they can provide PNR nos for the tickets.Truth is they havnt done any booking with airline for any of the coustomers.

Also if their server is not capable of booking tickets why have they not mentioned this on their site as an alert. Why are they still allowing booking to be done when the server is down and they cannot generate the tickets??

This is purely un-professionalism by travelchacha.com.They seem to be cheating conumers and making some bad money. This problem is faced by all the consumers/travellers who have done booking on this site since July 2010.

I request you to look into this matter and protect consumers from being cheated. Please take immediate and strong action against this fraudsters before they flea away with peoples money.

We are also facing the same problem, I booked our tickets on 2nd august till now I didnt received my ticket. We are based in Bahrain and doing international call almost everyday. Same they keep me on hold for long time.

I am not sure what happening there. They are picking up the calls to take new booking.

Please consumer forum do something.. This is the second time I have become the victim of fraud in india.

as i have booked an spicejet flight ticket on 13-Aug for the travel date of 27 aug 2010 from online portal of Online India Travel Portal Cheap Air Tickets India Vacations. but till now i dint got any confirmation from the compnay and from last two days they stop receiving the phone call also.

my booking ID is ANSRNH.

for this booking what should i do , if i will make a fresh booking it cost around 7000/- but at the time of booking with travel chacha it was rs 3000 only. who is responsible for this loss and how i have to deal with travelchacha.com

I had also booked my tickets from Travel Chacha. For a change I have got something different to post.

After a lot of follow up's with them I have finally got my tickets after 25 days. Just wanna share with you all how to get your ticktes from them.

First thing is if they have not send you your tickets means that they havnt even booked you wid airlines. Same was the case with me. I called up airlines and asked them for booking with my name on my travel date. They said "No booking with this name"..

Even I called up Travel Chacha helpline.. But to no help. Just kept increasing my STD bill..

There were no responses to any of the mails too.

But,then on 26th Aug I send them a mail with a Warning. I asked them to send me tickets within 24 hrs and threathened them to take them to consumer court/Cyber cell if they dont issue tickets. I also pasted a letter in that mail and told them below is the complain letter I will be mailing at consumer court if I do not get my tickets in 24 hours.


You wont believe that mail was replied within 30 mins and read as "Sir, We ensure you to process your tickets immediately."


The next day morning on 27th Aug I had received SMS that my tickets are booked. They send me a mail asking me to check tickets. To add more they even called me up to ask if I have received the tickets and if they were proper.

Its hard to belive such behaviour from Travel Chacha.

So my advise to you all is to do the same thing. Just threaten them of taking the matter to consumer court and I am sure you will have your tickets handy. I never knew consumer court forum is taken so seriously. It rocks!!

Apart from sending mails to query@travelchacha.com also send them to guneshwori.philem@travelchacha.com who seems to be their manager or something. This person had called me and issued my tickets.

But all the problems are now over. Had much better experience this time, Got the ticket copy immediately. And one of my refund was processed within 6 working days.
And the Rs 400 instant discount is a real deal again. So I would continue to reccomend & will use their service for future travel needs as well. Also would like to say that travelchacha is not a fraud website. It is one of the best site with the highest discount.

I was about to look into their international tours and book for myself and my family, but now I think I better stay away from Travel Chacha. Thank God ! I have similar experience with make my trip. com when I had booked a trip from me and my family to wayanad in Kerala, initially they had given a nice resort and they after taking all the money in advance, they come back and tell me that particular resort is full and I have to compromise on some other place and I had no end of trouble with Make my trip and they double booked our rooms with some other customer and instead of giving us original booking for three cottages they finally after a long wait at the resort reception they gave us only two cottages and we had to sleep on the floor for three nights.
Some one has to take these people to the courts and fix them properly coz they take us customers for granted. I decided never to use make my trip and with that experience when I read so many people's greivences against travel chacha I support all the people effected and should file a police and court complaint on fraud on these online travel companies.
