Hi,
I had been for Europe Tour with Kesari Tours in May 2011. Unfortunately, I lost my passport while I was in London. After such an unfortunate incidence, I feel the tours company should co-operate and facilitate the entire procedure to obtain the new passport from the Indian Embassy. However, the practices followed by Kesari are shocking and their Tour Manager Mr. Vivek Kochrekar' had no knowledge of international rules and regulations.
The Tour Manager told me and my husband to keep shut about the incidence & not lodge any police complaint. The reason for this he told that I would not be allowed to continue with the tour on a duplicate passport and will have to return back to India from UK itself. The Tour Manager assured us and also told that he will manage to sneak me into Paris without passport and other legal documents as he has done this frequently in the past. When my husband protested that this would be illegal and insisted on lodging a police complaint and following proper procedures, the Tour Manager told him that “either follow what I am saying or you are on your own”. Obviously, in an unknown country we had no choice but to follow what the Tour Manager was saying.
I think this sort of practice is illegal and must be halted. This sort of practice risks the safety and security of the tourists as travelling without proper legal documents abroad can lead to imprisonment without any fault of theirs.
This is a very serious issue and needs to be reported to proper authorities as well.
