Hi,

I booked a 3 Night 4 Day holiday package for Nainital through Makemytrip. Their Agent Saptrishi Sadhu RECOMMENDED me DOLMAAR Resort as a 3 Star hotel, pool facing room at 3500 per night. When I reached the hotel on due date I was shocked to see the condition of the Resort -

1. It was under big renovation
2. The entrance to my room was over a 10 ft deep drain covered with an iron grill and a welding machine was lying outside my room
3. There was no AC in the room
4. The pool was really dirty (even a drain is cleaner than that pool)
5. I called for room service to fix the TV in my room and it took them 45 minutes and 3 reminders to attend to that request
6. I had two meals in the hotel and both the times the food was cold, the restaurant did not even have sufficient supply of cold drinks.

Is this what you call a 3-STAR Hotel. Even Road side dhabas provide hot food and cold drinks.

I spent 200 Rs following up with the Post Sales department of Makemytrip and they kept me running around to different people. During one call they offered me - complete refund or move to a different hotel and later when I asked for refund they simply refused.

I moved out of that hotel next day and booked another hotel and paid another 5000 Rs. Now a month has passed and I haven't got anything back from them.

There is a clear cut nexus between MakeMytrip and such hotels wherein makemytrip accepts booking and has a clause in their booking that no refund is possible if the guest cancels the booking at last hour.

When I checked out of the hotel, the hotel manager refused to provide a clear bill as they did not have their sales tax id created.

I wonder on what basis makemytrip puts hotels in RECOMMENDED category.

Beware of MAKEMYTRIP and DOLMAAR resort in NAINITAL.
