Myself, Mr. Rajesh H Thampi had taken 2 packages from Religare, One touch solutions in July and August 2010 respectively. My membership id for the package taken in July is 2010070976 and for the one taken in August is 20100820350. Each of these packages were for Rs. 7000 each.
The representatives who called me, Mr. Vikas Jain and Miss Monalisa, repeatedly promised me a lot of things. I had raised the concern that if I had to provide 3 destinations as options, I would not be able to plan my travel. They promised that all I have to do is call them and let them know about when I want to book and just fill one of the destinations. And they will take care of the rest. The only terms and conditions they stated was the following:-
1, only a maximum of 4 members were allowed.
2, I have to send my booking 30-45 days in advance. And not earlier than that.
3, I have to pay Rs 750 at the hotel. This payment would be beyond the Rs 7000 I am already paying them.
4, All hotels are a minimum of 3 star hotels.
As I was raising my concerns they told me that Religare is the same company that was handling “Perfect Getaways” and that it was the same call center. If at all I could not contact them at 0120-6797171 then I can contact them at 1860-25-88888 which is the main Religare support line.
All of this happened before I had bought the package.
After the payment was made, they send me the documents. The terms and conditions in the booklet were worrying. After receiving the documents I immediately called up and got across to Mr. Vikas Jain. I got through to him only after trying the number for 2 days. He again confirmed that I have nothing to worry about and all I need to do is to call him when I want to make the bookings.
On Dec 2010 I submitted my first package (membership # 2010070976) with one destination filled with 3 different dates. Each of the dates had to have 7 days of gap in between them. I received no response from them at all. After a few days I try to call them up. Their phone lines are always busy. I call up the main Religare number 1860-25-88888 and they tell me that they cannot handle this, as it is a separate department.
At this stage Monalisa and Vikas Jain are no longer available and I wind up talking to Nishant. Nishant tells me that he cannot help me and finally I get across to one Mr Praveen Jain who Nishant tells me is the supervisor. He informs me that the courier has not reached him and that he will book it if I can scan the doc I had sent Religare and email it to him. I immediately scanned the photocopy of the document I have and send it across to him. I had opted for Auli in Uttarakhand at the time. After 2 days he calls me up and informs me that even if he provides me Auli, I would still have to pay Rs. 10,000/- at the resort. After this he offered to refund the Rs. 7000/- (Value of one of the packages I bought). This is the first and last call I receive from Religare after I payed them.
After repeated calls in trying to reach them the only response I get from them is that they will get back to me in 24/48/72 hrs. But they never call back. They don’t even respond to mails that I send across.
Later, they mail me stating that they just have not received the form. This is the only one liner response I get after months. In between this I keep trying to call them and the phone lines are always busy.
Finally in May 2011, I actually get to talk to a representative who tells me that a person called Mr. Praveen Jain never worked there. Having enough of this I asked him what I can do. He tells me that he will send me a duplicate form and that I can fill up and send it to him and he will start the booking immediately. I received the mail from him, took the printout, filled the form with all three destinations and three dates with 7 days of gap in between and courier the form to him. On top of this I scan the document and the receipt and email it across.
The very next day I get a mail stating that this is the month of May and that my first package expires on the 11th of July 2011. As per their rules, when I had put in 3 distinct dates, with the very first one starting after 30 days and each date having a gap of 7 days, the last date automatically goes to 22nd July. And since the last date option is past 11th July, it is considered to be expired.
This rule they cooked up was nowhere in any document they send across. And it is quite a surprise.
After receiving this mail I understand that Religare is running nothing but a fraudulent operation to scam people of money. By providing any kind of reasons and new rules they cook up as they go along, they simply scam people from their hard earned money. And further more to think that this is a financial institution is scary.
I am humbly requesting that these people be brought to justice. If major companies such as Religare cannot be held responsible for their actions and what they do to the country and community, then India as a nation will be at a loss.
With Regards
