Last year December 2010 after my marriage I travelled to Mauritius using a online booking through travel agent YATRA (Book Lowest Price International Airline ticket Flights, Hotels Reservation, Air Travel Holiday Packages, Cheapest Honeymoon Flight Cheap Online With Yatra). This was one single iternity for the entire booking, hence the ticket was with connecting flights.
While returning thru Air Mauritius flight booked through yatra, I reached to Mumbai from Mauritius late by many hours, which has caused me miss the flight from Mumbai to Kolkata. When I checked for alternate arrangement which should have been provided to me, but Air Mauritius refused to provide any option by saying it is not connecting and they will not arrange anything. Yatra suggested me to buy a new ticket and return to Kolkata and gave no other option. As a result, I spent more than Rs. 16,000 for buying two tickets for my wife and self to return to Kolkata, and that also in a flight after almost 10 hr. Later on with further investigation I understood from yatra that it is a connecting flight and I should have been helped with immediate alternate. While I demand the refund of the cost of my booking from Mumbai to Kolkata, Yatra gave different excuse like "please contact air Mauritius", "air Mauritius will not do if we say, you may email them directly", "ok, let us see, what can be done" etc. Later they finally asked me for the ticket's scan copy for further processing. After I gave them all the detail and scan copy, I did not get any other response except saying, "we have directed it to concerned department". And later further follow up was without any response from them. It is going to be one year now, but they did not act or refund me any amount I'm eligable for.
I need to know, whom to contact and what action can be taken now. Please assist.
