Subject : Denial of my Final Settlement from service.

Most humbly I submit as under:

1. I had been appointed as Front Office Manager in Hotel Fernhills Palace, Ooty belonging to MAHESHORE PALACES, RESORTS & SPAS PRIVATE LIMITED, { F-1, MYSORE PALACE, MYSORE 570 001}, owned by HH Sri Kanta Datta Narsimha Raja Wadiyar, the Maharaja Of Mysore w.e.f. August 10, 2007 till November 16, 2007. (Appointment letter enclosed).

2. I submitted my letter of resignation which was accepted by the management and the acceptance was conveyed to me on 15.11.2009 by the General Manager of unit.

3. I handed over my charge and received the clearance from all the departments before leaving the place.

4. Though, I have received the provident Fund amount (Less by 10 months) and the salary till November 2009, I had requested the company and the regional Provident Fund Office, Coimbatore to forward the calculation for the PF Amount, which has not been heeded to by either side.

5. Despite repeated requests I have yet not been paid the Ex-Gratia, Provident Fund for 10 months (The Employer’s Share only), Medical Allowance (Promised to me by the Managing Director in Person), and Travelling expenses for the years 2008 and 2009 and payment of 56 days of leave in balance at the time of resignation.

I am enclosing the copies of my appointment letter, request for settlement of my dues and the denial from the General Manager.
Sir, I have delivered 29 months of service in the above organization after serving Hotel Corporation of India for 24 plus year after I took VRS and am jobless due to the present turmoil in the Kashmir valley. I am sure your good office will not allow the Maharaja to deny me of my legitimate dues.
I request your honourable chair to guide me and use your authority to deliver justice to me for which I shall be ever grateful.

Dear Mr.Faiyaz Ahmed,

Sub: Appointment Letter

We are pleased to appoint you as Front Office Manager of M/s Fernhill Palace, Fernhill Post, Fern Hill, Ootacamund, a group of M/s Maheshore Palaces, on the following terms and conditions with effect from 10.08.2007.

1. You will be paid a consolidated salary of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand Only) per month.

2. You are entitled to receive Ex-gratia (annually) equivalent to one month’s salary.

3. Annually you are entitled to receive reimbursement of ‘To and Fro’ travel expenses from your place of work to your native place.

4. You will be in-charge of the Front Office (Reception), Reservations. You shall directly supervise all the Front Office Personnel.

Your duties and responsibilities are as follows :

• Ensure proper completion of all Front office duties. Co-ordinate and Direct the activities of the front office Desk, Reservations / Guest Services.

• Schedule Front office Staff shifts and distribute work loads during shifts. Evaluate Job Performance of the front office staff.


• Maintain Master Key Control. Verify accurate room status information is maintained and properly communicated.

• Resolve Guest Problems quickly, efficiently and courteously.

• Receive information from the previous shift manager and pass on the information to the incoming manager.

• Check cash and bank books and verify cash balances at the end of each shift.

• Update group information, maintain, monitor and prepare group requirements. Relay information to appropriate personnel.

• Review and control credit limit. Work within allotted budget for the front office.

• Wear proper uniform at all times and ensure the same among other front office personnel.

• Participate in recruitment of Front Office staff and assist in educating the Trainees.


TERMS & CONDITIONS :

a. You are responsible to cater to the needs of the Guests of the hotel. You shall be cordial to every guest and take utmost care of their needs. Every guest shall be shown utmost hospitality.

b. You shall maintain the standards of our Hotel and uphold the hotel’s commitment to hospitality.

c. You shall take timely instructions and directions from Mr.Kannan, General Manager (Operations & Administration) and shall directly report to him on a daily basis. You shall also be responsible to directly report to the Directors of the Company, especially to the Chairman and Managing Director of the Company.

d. You will be personally responsible for any loss incurred on account of your negligence at the front Office of the Hotel or such places of work at our Hotel.



e. You shall take utmost care and maintenance of all the belongings of the Hotel.

f. You are entitled for 30 days leave in the calendar year comprising of 12 days Casual leave and 18 days earned leave. Earned leave can be accumulated up to a maximum of 30 days. Any un availed leave beyond 30 days shall be forfeited/lapsed.

g. You are entitled to nine National and Festival Holidays in the calendar year.

h. You are liable to be transferred to any other unit of our group Companies.

i. At any time if you wish to leave the Organization, you shall give 3 months prior notice to the undersigned during which period you shall be paid salary.

j. The undersigned at any time and at his discretion has the right to terminate your services if found not upto the standards of our Company.

Secrecy :
You are expected to keep matters pertaining to the our Group of Hotels strictly confidential and not to divulge the same to others without prior consent of the undersigned.
