I have had my Apple iPod for 2 years now, and its been working fine until a few days ago, its stopped working. I have tried holding on the main start button and also pressing the menu button together to reset it, Ive also tried charging it but nothing appears on the screen!!

Ive heard that any Apple product can not be repaired at stores and it needs to actually be sent to Apple....is this correct?

And how would I know where to to send the ipod to, and what guarantee is there that I will get it back after?
