This is Muthukumar residing in East Tambaram and working in Cognizant. Few years back my dad took a Car loan from HDFC bank (Apr'06) and I was the co-applicant. Loan acct NO: 10229450 in the name of Periasamy S. Loan disbursed on 20th April 2006.

EMI was payed through ECS (IOB bank) Perungulathur Extn branch. Later, this extn branch was changed to vandalur main branch and due to the bank code change, the ECS was returned back and I was paying through Cash on all months.

On May'09, We decided to settle the car loan by pre-closure and approaced the bank agent. They asked us to pay Rs. 1,04,389.00 (Rupess One lakh Four thousand three hundred eighty nine) including late pay and ECS return charges. This amount was paid through cheque no (ICICI BANK)- "762503" bearing "HDFC LTD" and was cleared on May 9th 2009.

Till date, We havent receieved the settlement copy and when approached bank we havent received any proper solution.

My marriage was fixed in Feb 2010 and when approached banks for Personal loan, it was rejected stating my name is listed in defaulter's list and will not sanction any loan. Due to this, I had to depend on my friends for my financial needs for my marriage expenses.

I request you to kindly look into this matter and advise me to proceed further.
