Hi,

I have an education loan with the canara bank neyyattinkara branch(Trivandrum,Kerala) having the loan account no.0716651005326. During the current financial year(2011-2012) i have closed the education loan.So, I have requested the bank to provide me the interest paid certificate (under form 80E) for the current financial year(2011-2012). The bank is not willing to provide me the certificate under form 80E and if the certificate is required, i need to give the service charges to the bank.The bank is only ready to give the Provisional Interest Charges Report and which is not useful for Income tax department.
Shown below the format of 80E certificate, If and only if i pay the service charge to the bank they might provide me the certificate in the below format. Does there is any rule defined for this stoping the bank to give the below certificate. Also how i can get this certificate from the canara bank. Canara Bank employee was humiliating me while asking for this certificate. Please help be to get this certificate and take action againt the branch.
