I have a personal loan from HDFC. I have missed out on my EMI for a couple of times but have paid it with late fees.

As we all know that the bank makes profit out of these EMI's which are not paid on time by charging the customer with late fees, interest on the outstanding amount on a daily basis.. etc. But HDFC has gone a step ahead and tries to incur pleasure by taunting customers.

The collection representative from HDFC (not from a third party) called me regarding the EMI that I have missed out on and when I confirmed that I will be able to make the payment along with the next month payment, they had tried calling my mother's cell phone (I don't know by what means they got her number) and started taunting her for money.

I called customer service and told them that it is not fair on their part to torture someone who is not in the picture. They refused helping me.

Now, HDFC has started taunting my brother. It is just one month payment that i have missed out and when the bank knows my PAN number, permanenet address, phone number which is in working condition where i am picking up the call everytime they call me and above all they have alternate contact numbers why will a bank call and torture my family members for money????

They are not following proper security measures while collecting payments but strictly follow when my parents calls customer service for some help.

HDFC has exhibited the worst service one can even imagine a bank to provide. They send private messages from some unkown number to my brother asking for money that too within very short time frames. (like once in 2 or 3 hrs).

They use abusive words when we pick up the call.

JUST ONE QUESTION to the person who heads this collection department in HDFC

Do you think what your representative are doing now is acceptable? I understand it is problem from my end that I have not made the payment but when the customer is proactive enough to let you know her problem don't you think it is your responsibility to try and help her out rather than torturing her. WHY SHOULD WE GO TO A BANK FOR GETTING A LOAN WE CAN GO TO A LOCAL FINANCIER TO GET IT????
BANK IS SUPPOSED TO BE CUSTOMER FRIENDLY AND MORE OVER THE BANK IS MAKING MONEY FROM THE CUSTOMERS LIKE ME....
