I M SBI ACCOUNT HOLDER AT RATLAM. MY FRIEND HAD TAKEN A LOAN FROM SBI.I HAVE GIVEN A WITNESS .ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO HE HS TRANSFERED TO ANOTHER DIVISION.HE DOES NOT FILL ANY INSTALMENT OF LOAN.THEREFORE SBI HAS MAKE A HOLD ON MY ACCOUNT AROUND 60,000 Rs .WE ARE BOTH INDIAN RAILWAY SERVENT.WHAT CAN I DO AGAINST MY FRIEND & SBI.

I dont know what you mean by being a witness... As far as I can understand you signed as a guarantor for the loan so if your friend does not pay the loan back you are liable to pay it.

Legally there is nothing much you can do as you have already signed the papers and are liable for the unpaid debt. Talk to your friend and find out what went wrong and why is he not paying his installments.

I might be wrong as I am not a lawyer myself so it would be safe to assume that I can go wrong on legal matters.

What was the loan for? If it was an unsecured loan then things would be more difficult for you.
