Respected Sirs,
I am Capt Kandarp Patel, an offr in indian army and currently serving in jhansi. I have been dealing with axis bank and due to the following incident i have become totally dissatisfied with the bank and planning to change my bank a/c
a. I wanted to transfer a sum of 1000 GBP from my bank a/c no 013010100673303(vadodara branch, gujarat) to a british bank namely BARCLAYS BANK ,UK for payment to a tour operator. I was told that Axis bank ,jhansi can execute the above transaction
b. I went to axis bank , jhansi branch did all the paperwork and i was informed that same will happen within 48 hrs. (7 oct '10)
c. I was informed by the manager of the bank Mr Mukesh, that the transaction has occured and he is waitiing for the confirmation. (12 oct'10)
d. However when my tour operator conveyed to me that the transaction hasnt occured, i tried calling Mr Mukesh. But he didn t pick up the phone call.
e. I kept on calling him but he didnt answer my call. I called the landline no of the bank and the lady also didnt let me speak to Mr Mukesh.
f. Now i had no answer to give to my travel agent, as my bank was refusing to talk to me and i was only making fool of myself in front of the travel agent.
g. Next day i had to rush to Jhansi from Babina which is 30 kms away to clarify the situation, while i was involved in exigencies of service.When i reached the bank , the bank manager told me that Jhansi branch will not be able to execute the transaction. It took bank 7 days to let me know this.
h. Now the tour operator who had promised me to book the package for 1000 pounds, for early bird booking was now charging me 25 pounds of late fees.
j. It was very unprofessional on the part of the bank management to not inform me on time that whether i can avail the foreign transfer service at their branch and secondly, not attending a customer's call and keeping him in dark unless he panics.
I suddenly had the feeling that the bank that i have been associated with me has suddenly disowned me. It hasnt been a great feeling and i am thoroghly displeasured by a very unproffesional attitude of the bank towards me. I hope necessary action is taken at your end and customer service is improved manifolds. Requesting for some profesionalism and a sense of customer care
