Dear Sir,
I am in the process of purchasing a plot and had given a CANARA BANK Arekere branch, Bannerghatta road. cheque of Rs 300000/- as advance to the owner. The owner was in a hurry and wanted the money to get deposited in his account for some personal problem of his. He approached my bank manager and requested him to transfer the amount through RTGS/NEFT to his account. The money was transfered to his account the next day. But in a couple of days I got my passbook updated and to my surprise the bank has done an NEFT transcation to his account and also cleared the cheque. So in all a total of Rs 600000/- was transfered to his account without informing us. We rushed to the bank manager who had approved the NEFT and he is blaming us for this debacle. Our argument was when a cheque of 3 lacs was given how can he clear 6 lacs????. 3lacs via NEFT and 3 lacs as usual cheque clearence. !!!!
He is not ready to revert the money back and says It is not his mistake and blaming us for that... god knows how we are responsible.
Since the person is known to me I can retrive the money back due to good presonal relations. But what about the bank should I leave it simply? I want to lodge a complaint for this kind of huge debacle. Can you please suggest me how to tacle this kind of meniac.
Thanks
V Laxminarayan
