This is in reference to the complain "Ref No: 06/11/048925" made on 21st June 2011.

I had SB account in Standard Chartered Bank. ACCOUNT # 32111006981.
The bank has debited a service charge of Rs 1654.50 for non maintenance of a relationship of Rs 5 lakhs. But it was never intimated to me to maintain a total relationship of Rs 5 lakhs. It is a very old account (earlire it was with American Express Bank). Without any intimation and without my concent the account was upgraded to aXcess Plus account and they charged accordingly.

The charge details was also not informed. When I came to know that the charge has been deducted for non maintenance of relationship of Rs 5 lakhs in the account, immediately I closed the account, it was impoossible for me to maintanin a total relationship of Rs 5 lakhs.

Now, it has been confirmed by the bank that the charges can not be waived.

Hi Sanghamitra, I have exactly the same problem as yours. I too had an Amex salary account which was converted to Stan C account and they have in the last year debited 1654/- (3 times) from my account . and upon umpteen requests have not resolved. Whom are you in touch with?
