Atm card - money deducted with out transacting

On 19-12-2011, Rs. 6000/- were deducted from my husbands account , Syndicate Bank . On inquiring the bank insisted that the transaction is successful from their system. But he hasn't even tried for that money from thwe ATM. How could they victimize him when he has not even gone to the ATM to withdrawal the cash (Rs 6000) is not a small amount he had given a chq against that amount the chq was bounced Kindly do the needful to provide him justice.
